On the evening of March 23, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II, hosted a gala banquet at the palace in Amman for President Obama and his delegation.

This morning the President visited the ancient and fabulous city of Petra.

On the evening of March 22, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by her sister Her Royal Highness Princess Irene of Greece attended the concert, La Pasión Según San Mateo by J.S. Bach, held at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.

According to the Spanish royal court, upon Her Majesty’s arrival she was warmly greeted by the Director-General of the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas and Música and the Technical Director of the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, Mr. Félix Alcaraz.

On March 21, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias announced that Madrid’s bid to host the 2020 Olympic Games “…passed the Evaluation Committee of the IOC with distinction, if not with honors”.

And, well, that’s it. He was happy. 🙂

On March 22, 2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held an audience with President Barack Obama in Amman. According to the Petra News Agency:

“The two leaders stressed, during the bilateral meeting that was attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hessein bin Abdullah II and followed by an extended meeting attended by Jordanian and United States senior officials, keenness on promoting cooperation and strategic partnerships between the two countries to serve interests.

His Majesty and President Obama also discussed the consequences of the Syrian crisis and the huge burden that Jordan shoulders as a result of hosting Syrian refugees.”
