In other news, His Majesty will officially open the 2013 Jordan-U.S. Business Forum on Saturday, March 9, 2013, in Amman, Jordan.  Per the Jordan News Agency:

“The Forum aims to enhance bilateral partnerships, as well as explore and seize mutually beneficial business opportunities in Jordan and the region.  

Over three-days Jordanian and U.S. companies and business decision-makers will discuss and identify the potential opened by the Arab Spring in key sectors, as regional countries in transition seek to energize their economies.  

This year’s event will feature plenary and industry-specific sessions tailored to provide first-hand insights into the unique competitive advantages that Jordan offers to regional business.

His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan Delivers a Speech During the United Nations Special Thematic Session, Water and Disasters. (VIDEO)

NaruhitoOn Wednesday, March 6, 2013, His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan gave keynote speech during the United Nations special thematic session, Water and Disasters, in New York.

In his speech the heir to the Chrysanthemum throne “…called for international discussions to improve the world’s preparedness for tsunami and other water-related disasters…” according to various sources.

His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias to Attend the Funeral of the Late Hugo Chávez.

PFAIt was announced by the Spanish royal court that His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias will attend the funeral of President Hugo Chávez in Caracas, Venezuela, on Friday, March 8, 2013.  The prince will be accompanied by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Latin America, Mr. Jesús Gracia.

Meanwhile, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain has sent a message of condolence “…to the Venezuelan people on Wednesday…” according to El Pais.  In his statement His Majesty recalled “…Chávez’s ‘determination and dedication’ in helping Venezuela and the rest of Latin America…”  Thankfully, the old king didn’t remind the people and the government of Venezuela that he once told the late President Chávez to “Shut Up!” during the 17th Ibero-American Summit in Santiago, Chile back in 2007.
