TMs King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan Visit Turkey: Day Two. (VIDEO)

TMJordanOn March 6, 2013, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan continued their two-day official visit to Turkey.

This afternoon, His Majesty along with the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, toured the TUSAS Aerospace Industries (TAI) production facilities in Ankara.  According to the Anadolu News Agency, His Majesty and President Gül, “…inspected Turkey’s first national attack helicopter, the T-129 ATAK, the two leaders also watched a demonstration flight of the helicopter.”

His Majesty also attended the Turkey-Jordan Economic Cooperation Meeting where he gave a speech:

 “…urging the Jordanian and Turkish private sectors to boost partnerships between the two countries.  The king also underlined the need to promote cooperation and establish joint projects that benefit the two peoples in terms of job creation and trade exchange.”

His Majesty King Abdullah II also met with the Prime Minster of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan.  

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Rania visited the Institute of Technical Education for Girls in Ankara.  During her visit Her Majesty “…listened to a briefing on the activities undertaken at the institute, which is currently operating in 14 provinces in Turkey…” according to the Jordan News Agency.

His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje Visits New York.

waOn March 6, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje, in his capacity as Chairman of the Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, arrived in New York to attend the United Nations special thematic session, Water and Disasters.

Today’s meeting is an:

“…initiative of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.  The purpose of the meeting is to raise awareness, share experiences and good practices, and discuss ways forward towards global actions on water and disasters.

The summary of discussions will contribute, not only to future discussions of ECOSOC, Post Rio+20, Post-Hyogo and Post-2015, but also to help establishing global and regional dialogue and cooperation processes to improve disaster prevention and preparedness by countries.”

Also, present at today’s meeting was His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naurhito of Japan.

The Fondation Princess Charlene de Monaco Launches a New Program.

Recently, the Fondation Princesse Charlene de Monaco announced they will launch their Learn to Swim and Water Safety program later this year in Agadir, Morocco.

These new programs will teach the youth “…formal swimming instructions in both swimming pools and the sea, educate children as to the risks associated with the ocean…” and much more.
