On the evening of October 31, 2012 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh hosted a gala state dinner for Indonesian President, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and his wife at Buckingham Palace.
On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited Bristol. During her one-day visit the princess opened the West of England Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, attended a reception at Merchants’ Hall, and officially opened the new Bridewell police station.
On October 31, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh welcomed Indonesian President, Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, to London. President Yudhoyono was invited by Her Majesty for a three-day state visit.
In a press conference prior to his departure President Yudhoyono noted that he will hold an audience with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales as well as with other “… senior British officials… “ including Prime Minister David Cameron.
On the evening of October 30, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the 2nd Edition of the Telefónica Ability Awards in Madrid.
And, finally, this afternoon Her Majesty attended the 2012 Premios Rey Jaime I (awards ceremony) held at the Lonja de los Mercaderes in Valencia.
On October 31, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias attended the Premios SERES 2012 for Innovation and Corporate Social Commitment held at the Auditorio Rafael del Pino in Madrid.
On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, His Royal HIghness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje opened the new Sarcoidosis Center at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.
“Sarcoidosis is a disease in which abnormal collections of chronic inflammatory cells form as nodules in multiple organs. The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown. The inflammatory cells that appear are usually not of the necrotizing variety and are most often located in the lungs or the lymph nodes but virtually any organ can be affected. Normally, the onset is gradual. Most patients heal spontaneously within a few years.”
On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh visited Plymouth University. Whilst there the duke officially opened the university’s “… £19 million new state-of-the-art marine building, featuring ship simulator and wave tank testing facilities.” The Duke of Edinburgh also received an Honorary Doctorate of Marine Science “… in recognition of his decorated career in the royal Navy…”
In other news, the sovereign prince will visit Kazakhstan beginning on November 2, 2012. During his four-day visit Prince Albert II will meet with President Nursultan Nazarbayev, visit a cultural and sports facility in Astana, attend the “…opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Principality of Monaco in the presence of many authorities Kazakhstan…” and much more.
The sovereign prince will also attend the opening of the exhibition, The Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco, in Astana.

On October 31, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal was in Haverhill, west Suffolk for a brief visit. The princess attended the opening of the refurbished Council Offices St. Edmundsbury Borough Council, visited the Genzyme Limited, and attended the opening of the “… new £750,000 sports hall at the Samuel Ward Academy.”

On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias was at the Centro Nacional de Adiestramiento San Gregorio in Zaragoza to attend the multinational exercise Interdict-12.
Upon his arrival the prince was welcomed by various military personnel and watched the military training exercise, Interdict-12, an exercise which “…aims to increase the effectiveness against improvised explosive devices and features units of Engineers from the Army, Marines and troops from other countries …”

On Monday, October 29, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience with the Presidentes de Organizaciones Empresariales Iberoamericanas at Palacio de La Zarzuela.
Meanwhile, Infanta Elena attended the opening of the new temporary exhibition entitled, Goya y el Infante Don Luis: El Exilio y el Reino, at the Exhibition Hall at Palacio Real.
The exhibition features 300 pieces, including seventeen works by Francisco de Goya, as well as Luis Paret and Mariano Salvador Maella to name a few.
