Their Majesties also attended a reception held in their honor at the Governor of Minnesota’s residence, Mark Dayton. According to the newspaper, Twin Cities, Governor Dayton recently proclaimed, “…Saturday as ‘American Swedish Institute Day’…” in recognition of the “… heritage and bonds shared by Minnesota and Sweden.”

On October 6, 2012, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales (also known as The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland) visited “… Ballindalloch Castle to mark the 40th anniversary of the North East Aberdeen-Angus Club and the 150th anniversary of the first volume of the Aberdeen-Angus Herd Book…” The Prince of Wales is patron of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society.

After being warmly greeted by thousands of locals Their Majesties attended a “…Festival Worship Service…” held at the Christ Chapel.
Afterward, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited the Hillstrom Museum of Art where they viewed the exhibition 150 Years of Swedish Art: Highlights from the Swedish National Collections in Stockholm, attended a private luncheon held in their honor, and much more.

On October 5, 2012, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited West Yorkshire. The princess toured the Stanley Ferry Workshops, attended the relaunch of the vessel E. Austen Johnson for the Safe Anchor Trust at Shepley Bridge Marina, and attended a “…Lunchtime Reception Event on Supported Employment at Bradford YMCA’s Culture Fusion Building.”
Any way, the prince and princess toured the beautiful historic city of Quito, visited a newly restored church, met with the local people as well as government officials, and much more.
This morning Prince Felipeparticipated in the “… Primer Encuentro Empresarial Hispano-Ecuatoriano meeting…” and in the afternoon the royal couple attended a luncheon hosted by the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, at the Palacio de Carondelet.
Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spainvisited the areas of Villanueva del Rosario, Pueblo Laguna de Vera and Puerto Lumbreras on Friday, October 5, 2012. The areas were “… recently affected by severe floods and Her Majesty wanted see the damage and the status of remediation….” according to the Spanish royal court.

On Saturday, October 6, 2012, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden were in South Minneapolis to attend a dedication ceremony for the new Nelson Cultural Center.
