Secrets d’histoire: Monaco et les Princes de Grimaldi.

Well, it is official.  The French program, Secrets d’histoire: Monaco et les Princes de Grimaldi, which aired on France 2 last night, was a hit with audiences. Over 4.72 million viewers tuned in to the show.

Historian Stéphane Bern, host of the program, was given exclusive access to rare archival material as well as a tour of the Palais Princier by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II:

“… the sovereign prince opened the doors of the palais to Mr. Bern and invited viewers to discover the history of his family, the Grimaldis, who ruled for more than 700 years on the rock of Monaco.

In addition to the participation of Prince  Albert II, the program also features the expertise of historian, Mr. Franck Ferrand, writer and biographers, Ms. Isabelle River and Jean des Cars, the Director of the Archives at the Palais Princier, Mr. Thomas Fouilleron, historian, Ms. Jacqueline Carpine-Lancre, and writer, Mr. Philippe Delorme.”
