H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco in Riga, Latvia

Several days ago, I reported that H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco would visit Latvia and Estonia from June 1-3, 2011, and this afternoon the prince finally arrived in Riga, Latvia to begin his three-day tour of these two Baltic countries.

This afternoon he arrived in Riga where he was greeted by the president, Valdis Zatlers, and many other local dignitaries.  The purpose of the trip, according to a press release is to:

…discuss the promotion of business contacts, especially the attraction of investments, as well as environmental protection issues.

After the official inspection of the military guards with President Zatlers, the two bolted on over to a “… greenhouse complex of ecological waste management company…” where they stared at plants for five minutes and chatted away with the greenhouse horticulturists.

They had fun.
