Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend a Gala Performance at the Grimaldi Forum.

On the evening of November 19, 2012, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended a gala performance of the opera, La Fanciulla del West,  by the late Giacomo Puccini, held on the occasion of Fête Nationale 2012, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Guests in attendance during the gala included Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover, His Serene Highness Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein, Andrea and Pierre Casiraghi, local government officials as well as Monégasque VIPs.

Earlier in the day, the princely family attended a medal and award ceremony in the courtyard of the Palais Princier, and watched a military parade in front of the palais.  Afterward, there was an official luncheon held inside the Salle du Trône in celebration of Fête Nationale 2012.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Attends the Opening of the Exhibition, The Young van Dyck.

On November 19, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain was at the Museo Nacional del Prado to attend the opening of the exhibition entitled, The Young van Dyck.

This new exhibition is one of the largest exhibitions in the world dedicated to the art of van Dyck according to the Spanish royal court.  The exhibition focuses on Anthony van Dyck’s early works “… from the period of 1613 until October 1621…” 

News Regarding Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium.

 

On the evening of November 19, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium was in Etterbeek where she visited the Tehuis voor Foorreizigers- en Schipperskinderen a “…boarding school for children of fairground travelers and skipper children…”  to read aloud various stories to the youth according to the Belgian royal court.

The event was organized by the Fondation pour la Lecture as part of Reading Aloud Week.

 

TRHs Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Visit Brazil.

On Monday, November 19, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, along with a Dutch business delegation, began their five-day official visit to Brazil. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen relations between the Netherlands and Brazil, with an emphasis on economic cooperation, innovation and science according to RVD.

Today, the royal couple held meetings with Brazilian Secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Ms Heloísa Guimarães Menezes, the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Mr M. Ribeiro Filho, and the Brazilian Minister of Finance, Mr. G. Mantega.

In the afternoon, the prince and princess attended a luncheon meeting with “… representatives of the National Industry Confederation (CNI) counterpart VNO-NCW and SEBRAE equivalent of SME Netherlands.”

Afterward, the royal couple met with the Brazilian Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. LA Paim, as well as attended a seminar on the “… Brazilian program for foreign scholarships …”

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh Attend the 2012 Royal Variety Performance. (VIDEO)

On the evening of November 19, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh were at the Royal Albert Hall in London to attend the 2012 Royal Variety Performance.

After the performance Her Majesty and the duke met with various performers including R&B singer, Alicia Keys, comedian David Walliams, tenor Andrea Bocelli, and pop singer Robbie Williams to name a few.

On behalf of the Royal Family, the Government Information Service wishes to issue the following communiqué.

Since the skiing accident of His Royal Highness Prince Friso, the Government Information Service has indicated that it would make announcements on medically significant changes in the health situation of the Prince.

Prince Friso has recently begun to show signs of limited awareness; a state commonly known as minimal consciousness. The prognosis continues to be very uncertain and the medical team remains gravely concerned. It will take many months to get more clarity.

The Royal Family, and Princess Mabel and the children in particular, are grateful for the restraint shown by the media since the Prince’s accident. They request the media to continue respecting their privacy.

Princess Mabel would again like to thank the many people who have sent messages of sympathy. ‘This is the most challenging period of my life. My love for Friso, the support of family and friends, and the many signs of compassion give me strength in these difficult times.’

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain to Have Hip Surgery on Wednesday. (VIDEO)

It was announced that His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain will have hip surgery on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, according to the Spanish news outlet, Europa Press.

Apparently, His Majesty’s sister, Infanta Doña Pilar de Borbón, confirmed this latest news via a recent press conference.  It is unknown why the date for his hip surgery was changed from Friday to Wednesday.
