On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Ankara, Turkey for a two-day official visit.
Prior to his ceremonial welcome and meeting with the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül, the sovereign prince visited Anitkabir where he placed a wreath at the tomb of the late Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. After a moment of silence and the signing of the Aniktabir Special Registry Prince Albert II visited the Atatürk and War of Independence Museum.
Later in the afternoon, Prince Albert II arrived at the Cankaya Presidential Palace in Ankara where he was warmly greeted by the President of Turkey, Mr. Abdullah Gül as well as by other government officials including the Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Taner Yildiz.
Afterward, the sovereign prince and the president held a meeting where they discussed bilateral relations, environmental issues, and much more.
The sovereign prince also participated in a “…working luncheon with Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, before visiting the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations…”
