Monaco Princely Family, Royalty and Films

Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco Attends the new Versace Store Opening in NYC. Plus, Other News.

On the evening of October 24, 2012, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the new Versace store opening in SoHo in New York City.  Guests in attendance included a bunch of really good-looking people in fabulous outfits, models, actors and musicians.  Afterward, the princess attended a dinner at the Waldorf Towers with Ms. Donatella Versace and Gerard Butler to name a few.

In other news, if you happen to live in Los Angeles, California and would like to see the highly acclaimed Danish film, En Kongelig Affære (A Royal Affair) starring sexy actor Mads Mikkelsen, the movie will be shown during the AFI Film Festival on Monday, November 5, 2012.

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Visits India. (VIDEOS)

On the evening of October 24, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain arrived in Mumbai, India for a four-day visit.  Upon his arrival the old king was greeted by the Ambassador of Spain to India, Mr. Gustavo de Arístegui.

The purpose of the trip is to “… strengthen bilateral ties in a number of areas including sectors like infrastructure, transport, energy and defense.”  His Majesty is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. José Manuel García-Margallo, the Minister of Defense, Mr. Pedro Morenes, the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Mr. Jose Manuel Soria, and the Minister of Promotion, Ms. Ana Pastor to name a few.

Today, His Majesty attended a reception with various Indian business leaders.  In his speech the old king noted, “India is a great nation with a growing influence in these increasing globalized world.”  He went on to say a bunch other stuff, but it will most likely bore you to death.

Any way, the old king will meet with Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan sometime this afternoon and will attend “…high tea atRaj Bhavan tomorrow night.”

So Who Is Mr. Christopher O’Neill? (VIDEOS)

PMCO2012Now that the lovely Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden is engaged to her American financier boyfriend, Mr. Christopher O’Neill, perhaps you are wondering, Who is this guy?

Well, here is his CV courtesy of the Swedish royal court:

“Christopher O’Neill was born on June 27, 1974, in London, England, where he grew up with his parents, Eva Maria and Paul O’Neill.

He has dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom, and has five half sisters – Tatyana, Natascha, Stephanie, Annalisa, and Karen.

Christopher O’Neill studied at our Residential Institutions auf dem Rosenberg in St. Gallen, Switzerland, before he received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Boston University. In addition, Christopher O’Neill, holds a Master in Business Administration from Columbia Business School in New York.

Over the past 16 years, Christopher O’Neill worked in the financial industry, for companies such as NM Rothchild & Sons, and Steinberg Asset Management. Today, is Christopher O’Neill, partner and Head of Research at Noster Capital, a finance company with offices in London and New York.

Since the early years, Christopher O’Neill has been engaged in various sports and outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, tennis, golf, music, literature, and likes the Chelsea Football Club’s among other interests.

Christopher O’Neill’s father, Paul O’Neill, originally moved to London from New York in the 1960s to become the European headquarters for Oppenheimer & Co., a New York-based investment bank. Paul O’Neill left in December 2004.  Mrs. Eva Maria O’Neill is involved in a number of charitable organizations with particular focus on the cultural preservation of Salzburg, Austria.”

On October 25, 2012, the Swedish royal court announced that Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden is engaged to American financier, Mr. Christopher O’Neill.

Finally!

Yesterday, the couple gave a brief interview.  Here is what they had to say:

Congratulations on the engagement! How does it feel?

Princess Madeleine: We are very pleased and happy. It is a very special day for us.

What happened to when Christopher met?

Princess Madeleine: It was at the beginning of October. It was very romantic and beautifully thought out, but more than that, we do not want to tell but keep it for ourselves.

Christopher, were you nervous? Had you planned it long?

I had thought for a while that free and wanted to wait for the right moment. But, I knew that it was Madeleine I wanted to marry.

It was the first time you met?

Princess Madeleine: We met through common friends. For me it started with a close friendship. We shared the same sense of humor and had great fun together. Chris opened up my heart, he is my soul mate.

Christopher, when you realized that you wanted to free the Princess Madeleine?

I knew immediately something very special for Madeleine.

What was your first impression of Christopher?

Princess Madeleine: I appreciate Chris for his warmth and humor. He has a very big heart, and he always manages to get all of their surroundings to feel good. He is an amazing caring and generous person.

Christopher, have you talked to the King to marry the Princess?

It is true that I have spoken to the King and told him that I want to marry me, Princess Madeleine.

How was the King’s reaction?

Christopher O’Neill: The King and Queen became excited, and a little emotion, I think.

Christopher, can you speak Swedish?

I can say a few words and will learn more Swedish.

Can the Princess tell us something about the Christopher’s family?

I appreciate his family very much. They have always been very nice to me and welcomed me with open arms. Chris has a wonderful family!

Can you say something about the Princess’s family? What was the first meeting?

Christopher O’Neill: I have come to learn about the Swedish Royal family. I have been well received, and felt from the outset very welcome. They are all friendly and received a nice welcome when we seen them all.

How do you see a future family formation?

Princess Madeleine: Of course we are looking forward to getting married and having the time to form its own family.

Where are you going to live in the future?

Princess Madeleine: Right now we will continue to live in New York because of both of our jobs. But, it does not exclude the possibility that we are moving to Sweden in the future.

Christopher, what do you know about Sweden?

Sweden is a great country. It is so beautiful here and friendly people. I have visited Stockholm, Sweden, and Öland. I hope to have the opportunity to visit Sweden a bit more often now.

One last question; When will the wedding take place?

Princess Madeleine: We can come back with details about the wedding. But, it will take place in Sweden in the summer of 2013.
