On September 25, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain was at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid to attend the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Real Asociación Amigos del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
During the celebrations a painting by Spanish painter, Mr. Eduardo Arroyo, was donated by the president of the Real Asociación Amigos del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.
On September 25, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands held an audience with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, along with his son, Mr.Charles Mthunzi, at Paleis Huis ten Bosch.

“Beginning on Wednesday, September 26, more than 200,000 school children (aged 10-12) will sell stamps, cards and children’s bandaids, door-to-door. The proceeds of the campaign will go towards creating safe homes for vulnerable children. The number of children who are not able to live with their parents is growing with each year. In the Netherlands, approx. 44,000 children and young people were placed in out- of- home- care. More than half of these children live in foster homes.”

The princess also participated in the official launch of the Better Than Cash (BTC) Alliance this afternoon. Attendees at today’s launch included the Economic Secretary of Kenya, Mr. Geoffrey Mwau as well as the Budget and Management Secretary from the Philippines, Mr. Florencio Abad, to name a few.
So, what is the BTC Alliance? Well, it is a:
“…coalition of private institutions, governments, and international organizations committed to implementing cashless payment systems to facilitate transparency in government transactions.”
