On September 27, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was in Ballater where she watched “… local school children unveil a plaque marking a special Diamond Jubilee cairn…”

Meanwhile, this morning at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, Australia a stunning new portrait of Her Majesty was unveiled.  The new portrait of the Queen was painted by Australian artist, Mr. Ralph Heimans.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Visits Pensions Market for Entrepreneurs.

On Friday, September 28, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was in to Amersfoort visit the new department of Qredits Micro-Finance Netherlands and the Pension Market for Entrepreneurs.

According to RVD, the princess first visited the:

“… new department of Qredits Amersfoort. Qredits is a rural micro-credit provider and has in recent years, provided over 2,800 loans to starting entrepreneurs. Thereafter, the Princess participated in a round table discussion with a number of start-ups and their mentors.

After the interview, the Princess continued her visit with a tour of the Pension Market for Entrepreneurs…”

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias Visit La Gomera.

On Thursday, September 27, 2012, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias visited La Gomera located in the Canary Islands.  During their one-day visit the royal couple toured the town of Chipude in Vallehermoso where they were warmly greeted by local government officials as well as by the people.

After participating in a meeting with local officials Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia the visited the Bosque de El Cedro at the Parque Nacional de Garajonay and much more.

News Regarding His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex.

On Thursday, September 27, 2012, His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex visited the Cheltenham College to participate in their 150th anniversary celebrations of the school’s Combined Cadet Force.

Afterward, the earl visited Worcestershire to attend the opening of the “… new Territorial Army Center at Dancox House in Lowesmoor” as well as the Malvern Theatre in Malvern.  Please click here for more information about his visit.

 

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Visits the Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid. (VIDEO)

 

 

 

On Friday, September 28, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain visited the Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid (Food Bank Foundation of Madrid) to tour the facility as well as meet with the volunteers who help run this important non-profit organization.

 

Recently, the Fundación Reina Sofia donated 290,000 Euros to Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid to help finance several projects for the organization.  Moreover, the Fundación Reina Sofia “…has also signed an agreement with the Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentos, through which will donate a total of 300,000 Euros to expand joint activity of the Federación and the 54 food banks that constitute it.”

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco in Monterey, CA. Day Two.

Last night His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Monterey, California to participate in the 2012 BLUE Ocean Film Festival and Conservation Summit.  The sovereign prince took part in the panel discussion entitled, Sustaining a Healthy Ocean: How Are We Doing, REALLY?, alongside Dr. Sylvia Earle, Ms. Celine Cousteau, Dr. Greg Stone and Dr. Jane Lubchenco.

This morning Prince Albert II gave a keynote speech entitled, Understanding the Ocean in a Changing World, during the Ocean Acidification Symposium held at the Golden State Theatre.

After his speech, Prince Albert II participated in a panel discussion entitled, The Story So Far: Action on Ocean Acidification, along with Dr. Jean-Pierre Gattuso, Dr. Jane Lubchenco and California Congressman, Mr. Sam Farr to name a few.

During the conference, according to a press release, the sovereign prince announced:

“… the launch of a new international center to coordinate ocean acidification. At a cost of two million U.S. dollars for three years, the center, based at the International Atomic Energy Agency Environment Laboratories in Monaco, will help coordinate international research and link science and policy.” 

Prince Albert II stated:

“Supported by among others the Government of Monaco and my Foundation, an Ocean Acidification International Coordination Center has been set up in Monaco within the premises of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Marine Environment Laboratories. It represents not only an enormous source of pride for myself but also gives me real hopes for the future.”

Today’s event was organized by the Third International Symposium on the Ocean in a High CO2 World and the Blue Ocean Film Festival.
