According to the official website for Caracol in 650 AD the:

“…urban area of Caracol had a radius of approximately 10 kilometers around the site’s epicenter. It covered an area much larger than present day Belize City (the largest metropolitan area in the country of Belize) and supported more than twice the modern city’s population. Caracol is noted not only for its size during the Maya Classic era (A.D. 250-950), but also for its prowess in war; this includes an A.D. 562 defeat of Tikal (Guatemala) and a subsequent conquest of Naranjo (Guatemala) in A.D. 631.”

On Monday, March 21, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the cloud telephony communications company, Masqsam, in Amman, Jordan.

Now, I’m sure at this moment you’re wondering “what in the heck is a cloud telephony communications company?” Well, cloud telephony is an internet-based voice communication service (VoIP) where “…the telephony application is hosted by a third-party provider.” Still confused? In simple terms, according to Tech Target, cloud telephony is a:

“…type of unified communications as a service (UCaaS) that offers voice communication services through a third-party host. UCaaS replaces the need for conventional enterprise telephone systems, such as private branch exchange (PBX).”

Okay, enough of the techie stuff, let’s get back to the amazing Queen Rania.

Upon her arrival, Her Majesty was warmly greeted by the team behind the local cloud telephony company including its co-founders, CEO Mr. Sinan Taifour and the Director of Business, Mr. Fouad Jeryes. Thereafter Her Majesty participated in a meeting whereupon discussions focused on the “…inspiration behind its unique services and its plans for the future…” according to a press release.

Her Majesty Queen Rania completed her visit with a tour of the office, where she greeted Maqsam’s employees. The company employs 45 people, including a number with experience working with global tech giants such as Google, Amazon, Expedia, and Verizon. Last month, the company won grand prize at the LEAP Expo, a tech debut exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
