The Film, Royal Ice, Finally Has a Director… and He’s a Good One!

Legendary writer, producer, and director, Mr. Garry Marshall, is set to direct the upcoming film about Monaco’s first ever Olympic bobslegih team entitled, Royal Ice.  Mr. Marshall’s credits include Pretty Woman, Frankie and Johnny, Runaway Bride, The Princess Diaries (including the sequel), BeachesHappy Days, and of course the mega-hit television show, Joanie Loves Chachi.

Anyway, Royal Ice, originally written in collaboration with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Mr. Marc Thomas, will have rewrites by Mr. Marshall.  Production is expected to begin sometime in November 2015.

In an interview with trade paper, The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. Sergei Bespalov, Co-CEO of Aldamisa Entertainment which will produce the film, Royal Ice, notes that the story is an:

“…entertaining adventure about teamwork, big dreams and courage, featuring thrilling footage of the sport of bobsledding, as well as a great love story with some close-up looks at the world of Monaco’s royal princely family. It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with the Prince of Monaco and Garry Marshall on the same project…”

(VIDEOS) News Regarding HRH Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Miss Sofia Hellqvist.

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and his fiancée, Miss Sofia Hellqvist, attended a banns ceremony — ahead of their June 13, 2015, wedding — inside the Slottskyrkan royal chapel at the royal palace in Stockholm.

Guests in attendance included Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, TRHs Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel and HRH Princess Estelle of Sweden, Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill and HRH Princess Leonore of Sweden, various government officials, family and friends. Thereafter, a reception was held at the royal palace for the happy couple.

Anyway, several weeks ago the couple announced:

“…to coincide with their marriage [that they have] created the Prince Couple’s Foundation. The object of the Foundation is to promote and support children and youth in care and educational settings. This cause has the sincere commitment of the Prince Couple.

For well-wishers, the bride and groom request that any kind gifts be in the form of charitable donations to the Prince Couple’s Foundation.”

Meanwhile, the Swedish royal court announced — to no ones surprise — that upon her marriage to Prince Carl Philip Miss Hellqvist will receive the title of Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Värmland.

And, finally, the Swedish television network, SVT, announced they will air their exclusive interview with the couple on Friday, June 12, 2015.  The next day, SVT will air the royal wedding live from the religious ceremony at the Slottskyrkan through the carriage ride in Stockholm.

(VIDEO) TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Visit Liverpool.

On May 14, 2015, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall made a one-day visit to lovely Liverpool.

The day began with a visit to the World Museum where they were given of tour of the facility as well as view the exhibition, Mayas: Revelation of an Endless Time.

Soon, The Prince of Wales visited the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital while The Duchess of Cornwall “…opened the completed KIND SEED Centre to mark the Fortieth Anniversary of KIND and  visited Trust Projects at Manor Primary School…” according to Clarence House.

(VIDEOS) HRH Prince Harry of Wales Visits New Zealand.

On Thursday, May 14, 2015, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales accompanied by the Governor General of New Zealand, Mr. Sir Jerry Mataparae, visited Whanganui.  Whilst there the prince visited the “…Pūtiki Marae which is central to Maori culture and community activities. He was given a full Powhiri welcome including the challenge, a call of welcome, speeches by the welcoming Iwi and a prayer…” according to Kensington Palace.

Thereafter, Prince Harry was given a tour down the Whanganui River in a Waka canoe and attended a reception with military veterans.

On Friday, May 15, 2015, the prince was in south Auckland where he visited the Turn Your Life Around Development Trust Youth Center and toured the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit, where he met “…rugby stars Keven Mealamu and Jerome Kaino…”  

And, finally, on Saturday, May 16, 2015, Prince Harry “…helped mark the two weeks to go to the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015 [by] taking part in a mini football event at The Cloud in Auckland…” writes the official FIFA website.
