On Sunday, May 17, 2015, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and his fiancée, Miss Sofia Hellqvist, attended a banns ceremony — ahead of their June 13, 2015, wedding — inside the Slottskyrkan royal chapel at the royal palace in Stockholm.
Guests in attendance included Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, TRHs Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel and HRH Princess Estelle of Sweden, Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill and HRH Princess Leonore of Sweden, various government officials, family and friends. Thereafter, a reception was held at the royal palace for the happy couple.
Anyway, several weeks ago the couple announced:
“…to coincide with their marriage [that they have] created the Prince Couple’s Foundation. The object of the Foundation is to promote and support children and youth in care and educational settings. This cause has the sincere commitment of the Prince Couple.
For well-wishers, the bride and groom request that any kind gifts be in the form of charitable donations to the Prince Couple’s Foundation.”
Meanwhile, the Swedish royal court announced — to no ones surprise — that upon her marriage to Prince Carl Philip Miss Hellqvist will receive the title of Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Värmland.
And, finally, the Swedish television network, SVT, announced they will air their exclusive interview with the couple on Friday, June 12, 2015. The next day, SVT will air the royal wedding live from the religious ceremony at the Slottskyrkan through the carriage ride in Stockholm.
