On May 7, 2015, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the XXXII Edition of the Premios Internacionales de Periodismo Rey de España and the XI Edition of the Premio Don Quijote de Periodismo awards ceremony held at the Casa del Lector in Madrid.

Granted by the Spanish news agency EFE the Rey de España award recognizes outstanding Ibero-American journalistic works in radio, TV, printed media, and photography.  While the Don Quijote award “…recognizes outstanding works that stand out for their literary quality and proficient use of the Spanish language.”

Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium Presides Over an Award Ceremony.

On Thursday, May 7, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium presided over the 2015 Prix Reine Mathilde, a prize which is awarded annually to an organization which deals with vulnerable young people in society, at the Palais Royal in Brussels.  This year the award went to Kruiskenshoeve from East Flanders.

The Princely Twins of Monaco will be Baptized This Sunday.

This morning the Palais Princier de Monaco released their final information regarding the upcoming baptism of the Princely twins of Monaco.

The baptism will take place on May 10, 2015, at 10:30AM at the beautiful Cathédrale de Monaco during obligatory Sunday Mass with Archbishop Bernard Barsi presiding.

The godparents of the Princely twins will come as no surprise to longtime royal watchers and supporters of the Monégasque Princely family.  So who are the godparents?  For His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Jacques Honoré Rainier of Monaco the godparents are Mr. Christopher LeVine, Jr. and Ms. Diane de Polignac Nigra.  For Her Serene Highness Princess Gabriella Thérèse Marie of Monaco the godparents are Mr. Gareth Wittstock (younger brother of Princess Charlene) and Ms. Nerine Pienaar (longtime and close friend of Princess Charlene from lovely South Africa).

After Mass, the Princely family will proceed from the Cathédrale de Monaco, along the Rue Bellando de Castro, to the Palais Princier.  During that time the people of Monaco as well as tourists will be able to catch a glimpse of the family as well as send them their well wishes.

Once the Princely family have arrived at the Palais there will be a “…decoration ceremony held inside the Salon des Glaces…” according to the press release.  His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Jaques and his godparents will receive the Ordre de Saint-Charles while Her Serene Highness Princess Gabriella and her godparents will receive the Ordre de Grimaldi.

(VIDEO) Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan Visits the Orient Spirit Development Organization.

On Wednesday, may 6, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan visited the Orient Spirit Development Organization in Amman.  This fantastic group is a vocational training center for individuals with disabilities.

According to Petra News, during this afternoon’s visit Her Majesty:

“…stopped by several stations where the students demonstrated their acquired skills such as handicraft and accessories making, embroidery, sewing and stitching, painting, woodworks and music.

Her Majesty expressed her admiration in the quality of some of the products made by the students and listened as they told her how the center helps them market and sell their work. Queen Rania also spoke with the trainers and participated in creating a mosaic piece with some of the students.

During the tour, accompanied by Mr. Sami Nasser, founding manager of Orient Spirit, Her Majesty listened to songs recited by the students to highlight the arts program that teaches various arts skills that help students develop their imagination, creativity, and self expression through music, painting, drama, mosaic and accessory making.

In attendance was also Mrs. Falasteen Awad, director of Orient Spirit, who briefed Her Majesty about the center’s programs such as Academia, a basic teaching program to help the students read information, and do basic mathematics in their everyday lives. Awad added that the center also teaches students life skills including personal hygiene, money management, cooking, and recycling. Moreover, the students are also taught soft skills that help them overcome communication challenges.”

On May 6, 2015, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain presided over the inauguration of the XI Congreso Nacional de la Abogacía held at the Palacio de Congresos Europa in Vitoria-Gasteiz in northern Spain.

Her Royal Highness Princess Elisabeth of Belgium Baptizes a Ship.

On May 6, 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Elisabeth of Belgium accompanied by her parents, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, baptized the new P902 patrol ship, Pollux, at the Zeebrugge Naval Base in West Flanders.
