On the afternoon of August 28, 2013, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway arrived at the Akershus Festning in Oslo to officially open the Sculpture Park. The artworks within the park were designed by various Norwegian youths.
Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands attended an early evening concert, held at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, on August 28, 2013.
The princess along with hundreds of lucky guests listened as the European Union Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Thomas Søndergård, performed various works by the late composers, Mr. Igor Stravinsky, and Mr. Hector Berlioz.
On the morning of Wednesday, August 28, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived in Den Haag to attend the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Vredespaleis (Peace Palace).
During today’s event His Majesty along with hundreds of guests listened to various speeches from Dutch Prime Minister, Mr. Mark Rutte, as well as from the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon. His Majesty King Willem-Alexander also received the centenary commemorative book, TheBuildingofPeace: A Hundred Years of Work on Peace Through Law, ThePeacePalace1913–2013.

On Sunday, August 25, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan visited the Kiichiro Mizumura Museum inTōmi in the Nagano Prefecture.
On August 26, 2013, Their Majesties King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun of Bhutan presided over the “…17th Convocation of 2011 – 2013 batches of graduates of the Royal Institute of Management…” in Thimphu.

On Monday, August 26,2013, His Majesty King Abdullah II opened the “…new building for the explosives unit which is part of the Special Branch in the Public Security Directorate…” in Amman according to Petra News.
Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan held a meeting with representatives from the medical humanitarian organization, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, in Amman. Her Majesty was informed about the work Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières “…carries out in Jordan and its partnerships with the Ministry of Health and the Jordan Red Crescent Hospital.”
On the morning of August 24, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan visited one of the oldest schools in Japan, Kaichi Gakko, in Matsumoto in the Nagano Prefecture. During their visit the emperor and empress were given a tour of the school as well as viewed a special exhibition.
