On August 2, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias and her two daughters, Infanta Leonor and Infanta Sofia, as well as Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena and her children posed for the press during their vacation on the beautiful island of Mallorca.
Meanwhile, various sources are reporting that Infanta Cristina of Spain will be moving to Geneva, Switzerland for “work” at the end of the summer. Apparently, the disgraced infanta will “…work on joint projects, run by the Fundacion La Caixa, with United Nations institutions in Geneva…” according to Agence France Presse.
Unfortunately, her sleazy husband, Mr. Iñaki Urdangarín, will not be moving with his wife and kids. No, his sad little self will remain in Barcelona, Spain. Why? Well, Mr. Urdangarín and his former business partner, Mr. Diego Torres, are currently under investigation by the Spanish courts for embezzlement, fraud, misuse of public funds, and forgery from the non-profit organization they once presided over, Instituto Nóos.
And, finally, on July 31, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias, and Infanta Elena of Spain arrived at the City Hall in the town of Andratx, Mallorca to visit the Centro de Cooperación and Control de Emergencias de la Unidad Militar de Emergencia. Last Friday, a fire burned roughly “…1,800 hectares of forest in the Sierra de la Tramuntana region…” so on Wednesday the royal family came out to meet with firefighters, emergency response personnel as well as locals.
