His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco held an audience this afternoon at the Palais Princier with well-known environmentalist, documentary filmmaker, and producer, Mr. Nicolas Hulot.

During their meeting the sovereign prince and Mr. Hulot discussed important issues regarding the environment specifically ways to protect endangered marine life.

On the morning if July 10, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias toured the Parque Nacional de la Sierra de Guadarrama located just north of the city of Madrid.

Lat month Sierra de Guadarrama was declared a national park by the Spanish government in order to protect endangered flora and fauna within the park.

On the evening of July 9, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a reception in the gardens at Clarence House in London for supporters of the charity, Elephant Family.

The mission of Elephant Family is to protect and save the Asian elephant which, as of today, is on the verge of extinction. Per the official website for Elephant Family:

“Since our launch in 2002, we’ve been busy. We’ve invested over £6 million to save the Asian elephant, working to secure elephant and wildlife habitat, supporting local communities to reduce incidents of human-elephant conflict, highlighting the plight of the Asian elephant with UK-wide education, programs, publicity and lobbying governments and corporations to take action.”

Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan Will Visit India this Fall. (VIDEO)

It was announced this morning via a press release from the Imperial Household Agency that Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan will make an official visit to India beginning November 30, 2013. The purpose of the one-week visit, which will take them to the cities of Delhi and Chennai, is to strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and India.

According to Kyodo News the Imperial Household Agency is “…making efforts to ensure the trip does not put a strain…” on the elderly emperor and empress.

On the afternoon of July 9, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Den Haag to meet with several volunteers who maintain the “…city garden…” known as Emma’s Hof.

The garden serves as an “…open air community center run by over 100 volunteers. Emma’s Hof is a quiet neighborhood meeting place for adults as well as an area where children can play in a safe and natural environment.”
