On Monday, May 13, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain attended the inauguration of the XVIII Congreso Internacional de Arqueología Clásica held at the Palacio de Congresos in Mérida.
The five-day conference held under the theme, Centro y Periferia en el Mundo Clásico, was organized by the Museo Nacional de Arte Romano, the Consejería de Educación y Cultura del Gobierno de Extremadura and the Instituto Catalán de Arqueología Clásica.
The XVIII Congreso Internacional de Arqueología Clásica gathers international archeologists, scholars, and students to share their findings of their research as well as to define new points of scientific debate. The conference also provides contacts among professionals at the international level.
Meanwhile, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience with Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Mr. Erlan Idrisov, at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid. So, what did they talk about during their important meeting? No idea. Perhaps the usual stuff: the economy, bilateral relations, basketball…
And, that’s it. Happy Monday, everyone! 🙂
