“Emperor Qianlong of China: The Emperor’s Secret Garden” (VIDEO)

“The Emperor’s Secret Garden is the extraordinary story of Qianlong’s Garden over three centuries of Chinese history, from its Imperial past to the fast-paced modern China today.

The discovery of the Emperor’s Garden in the early 2000s sparked one of the most awe-inspiring restoration projects to date; The Lodge of Retirement in the Forbidden City in Beijing had lain undisturbed since the 1700s.

The fabled Forbidden City in Beijing, a 178 acre city-within-a-city, clothed in secrecy and surrounded by myth, was for centuries a tantalizing mystery to the west. Isolated behind high walls for nearly five hundred years, successive rulers built up a collection of the most remarkable and opulent buildings and artworks of Chinese culture. The city became The Palace Museum when the Emperor left its sanctuary in 1924.”

 
Swedish Royals

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Visit Wilmington, Delaware. (VIDEOS)

On May 11, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived in Wilmington, Delaware to celebrated the 375th anniversary of the landing of the Kalmar Nyckel ship and the establishment of the New Sweden colony.

Prior to their arrival in Wilmington Their Majesties visited the “…Finnish Settlers monument at Crozer Park…” in Chester, Pennsylvania.

His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales Visits Colorado Springs, CO. (VIDEOS)

On the evening of May 10, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales arrived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for a brief visit.  The prince along with “…dozens of dignitaries, British expatriates, students and military officers…” attended a reception held in his honor in Denver, Colorado.  The next day Prince Harry attended the opening ceremony of the 2013 Wounded Warrior Games held at the USOC Training Center.

TSHs Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco Attend a Charity Ball.

palaisprincierOn Friday, May 10, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the 2013 White Feather Foundation Charity Ball in Beausoleil, France.  The purpose of the foundation, run Princess Charlene’s close friend, Mr. Julian Lennon, is to:

“…embrace[s] environmental and humanitarian issues and in conjunction with partners from around the world helps to raise funds for the betterment of all life, and to honour those who have truly made a difference.”
