On April 4, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias held an audience with the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, at Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid. Earlier in the afternoon, the prince presented the Royal Commissions to new judges held at the Auditorio de Barcelona.
Well, it’s that time of year again! It’s the 2013 Merrie Monarch Festival a yearly event which “…honors the legacy left by King David Kalākaua, who inspired the perpetuation of our traditions, native language and the arts.” Yay! So, yeah, every year I mention this fantastic event because, well, I can. 🙂 Moreover, it is truly a great event that everyone must see at least once in their lifetime.

On April 4, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh hosted a reception for the British Film Industry at Windsor Castle. During this evening’s event Her Majesty received an “…honorary BAFTA award in recognition of her lifetime support for the British film and television industry…”
On April 4, 2013, His Majesty King Harald V of Norway held an audience with the Foreign Minster at the royal palace in Oslo. Meanwhile, Her Majesty Queen Sonja held an audience with the Norske Opera og Ballett (Norwegian Opera and Ballet). Later in the afternoon His Majesty attended the funeral of the late Mr. Hjalmar Andersen held at the Tønsberg Domkirke.
And, finally, this morning His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway participated in the NHO Conference, Arena Global Future, held at the Næringslivets Hus in Oslo.
Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Strathearn, aka The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, arrived in Glasgow, Scotland for a two-day visit on April 4, 2013.
This morning the royal couple visited the Emirates Arena in Glasgow where they met with “…organizers and budding athletes participating in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and unveiled a commemorative plaque marking their visit.” The royal couple also visited the Quarriers Stopover Project, “…a place for young homeless people run by the charity, Quarriers, and visited the Donald Dewar Leisure Centre in Drumchapel where they launched a new Scottish project for their foundation.”
