His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco Participates in the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium.

On Thursday, October 4, 2012, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2012 Arctic Futures Symposium held inside the Jacques Delors Building at the European Union Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

During today’s event the sovereign prince gave a brief speech along with the European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ms. Maria Damanaki, and the President of the International Polar Foundation, Mr. Alain Hubert to name a few.

Topics during the symposium included: Perspectives from Arctic stakeholders, the future of energy resources in the Arctic, and management of Arctic marine resources.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Holds an Audience with Board Members from the Asociación Hispania Nostra.

On October 4, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain held an audience with board members from the Asociación Hispania Nostra (AHN) at Palacio Real de El Pardo in Madrid.  The purpose of the AHN, “… is to protect, safeguard and enhance Spanish Cultural Heritage and its environment, in the field of civil society…”

Afterward, Her Majesty presided over the Unión Europea de Patrimonio Cultural/Europa Nostra 2011 and 2012 award ceremony:

“These awards are given annually to recognize and encourage best practice in the conservation of cultural heritage in Spain, stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experiences among all European countries, increase knowledge and appreciation of European cultural heritage exemplify similar initiatives.”

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Attends a Conference.

On October 4, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the Annual Conference of the Royal Dutch Society for Veterinary Medicine (KNMvD) in Nieuwegein.

According to RVD:

“Her Majesty attended a lecture by Professor Herman Wijeffels, Professor of Sustainability and Social Change, sustainable care for humans and animals as well as listed to a speech by Professor Ludo Hellebrekers, chairman of the KNMvD.”

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Visits Scotland. (VIDEOS)

On Thursday, October 4, 2012, The Prince of Wales (also known as The Duke of Rothesay) was in Brechin, Scotland where he visited the 15th century building known as Merchant’s House. The old building was restored with funds from the Prince’s Regeneration Trust (PRT).
