On Thursday, May 26, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, accompanied by various Spanish government officials, participated in a meeting with the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce in New York City.
The purpose of the meeting is to promote economic relations between the two countries. Entrepreneurs from the financial, energy, fashion, infrastructure and food sectors, among others, participated in this meeting.
Established in New York City in 1959, the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce is an American and private non-profit institution that promotes bilateral trade and investment. It represents the interests of companies that have established, or are interested in establishing commercial and business relations between Spain and the US It is also an Official Chamber of Spain recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
Upon his arrival, His Majesty was received by the Consul General of Spain in New York, Ms. Caridad Batalla, and the President of the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Marco Antonio Achón.
After the meeting, His Majesty visited the headquarters of the United Nations Organization where he had a luncheon meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Antonio Guterres.
