HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Attends the Passage of the Flamme du Soldat Inconnu.

On the afternoon of Saturday, May 7, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco accompanied by various Monégasque government officials attended a solemn ceremony of the passage of the Flamme du Soldat Inconnu (Flame of the Unknown Soldier) held at the Monument aux Morts du Cimetière de Monaco.

According to the official website of the Gouvernment Princier de Monaco, today’s solemn ceremony is:

“…a part of the centenary of the Society of Members of the Legion of Honor, a tour of France of the Flame of the Unknown Soldier took place in connection with the commemorations of the centenary of the disappearance of Prince Albert I…”

During today’s ceremony, students from various schools throughout the Principality “…read texts by Prince Albert I and Prince Louis II.”

HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Participates in the Kusträddardagen Beach Clean-Up.

On the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2022, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden accompanied by her two children, Her Royal Highness Princess Estelle of Sweden and His Royal Highness Prince Oscar of Sweden participated in the Kusträddardagen (Nordic Coast Guard day) beach clean-up along the shores of Djurgården in Stockholm.

According to the Swedish royal court, the Kusträddardagen is:

“…arranged for the sixth year in a row by the organization Keep Sweden Clean. More than 50,000 Swedes have expressed interest in this year’s campaign and are participating by picking up rubbish along the sea and watercourses.”

News Regarding HRH Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg.

On May 4, 2022, Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg was a guest of Mr. Térence Jarosz’s (from RTL 5Minutes) podcast entitled, Vous avez comme un accent.

In the interview, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa tells the story of her life beginning in Cuba, then the United States, then Switzerland, and eventually in Luxembourg. She also talks about her family, her meeting with Grand Duke Henri, and other important moments in her life. 

The Grand Duchess also discusses her work in the humanitarian field, specifically, her commitment to the organization, Stand Speak Rise Up. The aim of the organization is to fight against sexual violence in sensitive areas, in particular, rape as a weapon of war.

On May 7, 2022, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa participated in RTL Luxembourg’s 20th Edition of Télévie, a telethon fundraising event for Cancer and Leukemia research, in Mertzig, Luxembourg. According to the Cour Grand-Ducale, prior to “…acting as telephone operator alongside other volunteers to take pledge calls…” the lovely grand duchess met with hundreds of volunteers, patients, families, and staff.

(VIDEO) His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain Arrives in Costa Rica for an Official Visit.

On the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain arrived at the Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica to begin his official visit to the Central American country.

The purpose of His Majesty’s visit is to strengthen ties between Spain and Costa Rica as well as to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Republic of Costa Rica’s newly elected president, His Excellency Rodrigo Alberto de Jesús Chaves Robles.

The inauguration ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco Attends the 10th Edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament.

On the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2022, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, His Serene Highness Hereditary Prince Jacques of Monaco, Her Serene Highness Princess Gabriella of Monaco, and Mr. Gaerth Wittstock attended the 10th Edition of the Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament held at the Stade Louis-II in Fontvieille, Monaco.

The Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament an international U-12 Rugby, 7 tournament whereupon 16 teams from 14 countries compete against each other: Andorra, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Spain, France, Georgia, Mauritius, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco, Switzerland.

According to the Monégasque newspaper, Monaco Life, the competition:

“…brings together young players all under the age of 12, to compete in friendly games with the expressed hope that they make some new friends along the way. The event includes not only regular matches but also offers courses for young adults and children with disabilities.”

The Sainte Dévote Rugby Tournament is organized by The Princess Charlene Foundation and the Fédération Monégasque de Rugby.  The tournament is sponsored by Mr. Mathieu Bastareaud, the emblematic player of the French National Team and of RC Toulon who is currently playing for Lyon Olympique Universitaire (LOU).
