HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark Returns to Germany.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 2022, Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark returned to Germany to attend the 100th-anniversary celebrations of the Duborg School in Flensburg.

Duborg School is part of the German school system for the Danish minority in South Schleswig and has a qualifying student exam for higher education in both Denmark and Germany.

During today’s event, there were musical performances, singing, and dancing according to the Danish royal court. After the celebrations, Princess Benedikte attended a luncheon at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Flensburg.

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Celebrates the 300th Anniversary of Fredensborg Slot.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark along with hundreds of citizens from Fredensborg municipality celebrated the 300th anniversary of Fredensborg Slot.

According to the Danish royal court, during today’s celebrations “…hundreds of young people performed with the local orchestra, singing for Her Majesty in front of the castle’s main staircase…”

TMs King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Welcome the President of Finland to Stockholm.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden welcomed the President of Finland, His Excellency Mr. Sauli Niinistö, and First Lady, Jenni Haukio, at the Hovstallet in Stockholm. The President and the First Lady were invited by His Majesty The King for a two-day state visit to Sweden.

According to the Swedish royal court, the purpose of the state visit is to:

“…confirm the good relations between Sweden and Finland, and to highlight the extensive collaborations that are ongoing and that can be further developed. This applies, among other things, to crisis preparedness and civil defense, the cooperation between our defense forces, and among companies that work with innovation and green conversion. The culture and its restart after the pandemic will also be noticed in connection with the visit.”

After the reception at the Hovstallet, Their Majesties and the President and First Lady of Finland took a carriage ride through the streets of Stockholm to their final destination, the inner courtyard of the Kungliga Slottet.

Thereafter, His Majesty and President the King and President Niinistö completed the traditional Inspection of the Grenadier Company of the Life Guards as Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden as well as Their Royal Highnesses Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden looked on.

Soon, Their Majesties, the Crown Princely couple, the Prince Couple, and the President and First Lady of Finland made their way into the palace for a photo-op and speeches.

In the evening, there was a glamourous gala dinner in honor of their guests from fantastic Finland.

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

On the morning of May 17, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium held an audience with the President of the Federale Neutrale Beroepsvereniging voor Verpleegkundigen and the President of the National Federation of Nurses of Belgium, on the occasion of their organizations 100th anniversaries, at the Palais Royal in Brussels.

In the afternoon, Her Majesty The Queen met with new Patented Court Providers as well as several new Holders of Existing Patented Court Providers who were appointed in 2020 and 2021 at the Palais Royal. Due to Covid-19, the handing over of the patents could not take place in these two last years. 

His Majesty King Philippe of Belgium was scheduled to participate in the meeting with new Patent Court Providers; however, due to the recent passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Al-Nahyan, His Majesty The King traveled to Abu Dhabi to convey his condolences to the new Emir and President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Inaugurates the Photo Exhibition at the Gare de Monaco.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco inaugurated the new photo exhibition, Un Prince en Mouvement : Albert Ier de Monaco et Les Moyens de Locomotion de son Temps (A Prince in Motion: Albert I of Monaco and the Means of Locomotion of His Time), at the Gare de Monaco on the Sainte-Dévote forecourt.

The Un Prince en Mouvement : Albert Ier de Monaco et Les Moyens de Locomotion de son Temps photo exhibition retraces Prince Albert I’s interest in mobility, in 10 photos representative of his relationship to the means of transport of his time.

Known for his marine explorations the late Prince Albert I lived through a period of intense and abundant technological innovation in the world of transport, with increasingly diversified and rapid modes of travel, most of which he tested.

In 1868, at La Condamine station, he witnessed the arrival of the railway in Monaco, which opened up the Principality, and the major inventions of his time, such as the internal combustion engine which accelerated the development of modern transport, he himself practices navigation, horse-riding, car driving and finally motorcycling (of which he was a pioneer) as well as cycling (tandem and triplet included) over great distances, as an accomplished sportsman, and has sometimes directly contributed to the progress made.

Un Prince en Mouvement : Albert Ier de Monaco et Les Moyens de Locomotion de son Temps will be on display at the Gare de Monaco on the Sainte-Dévote forecourt until August 31, 2022.

The Norwegian Royal Family Celebrate National Day 2022!

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, and His Highness Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway celebrated National Day in Oslo and Asker.

The day began in Asker where Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit along with their two children Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra and His Highness Prince Sverre Magnus welcomed the Children’s Parade outside their home, Skaugum. 

Thereafter, the Crown Princely family arrived at the Royal Palace in Oslo where they joined Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway on the balcony to watch another parade as well as to wave to the thousands of Norwegians who came to the palace to see their royal family and watch another parade.

(VIDEO) Surprise! Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Makes an Unscheduled Appearance at the Opening of the New Elizabeth Line in London.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II made a surprise appearance when she accompanied His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex to officially open the new Elizabeth Line at Paddington Station in London.

Upon their arrival, Her Majesty The Queen and The Earl of Wessex were greeted by the Secretary of State for Transport and the Commissioner for Transport for London, Mr. Grant Shapps, the British Prime Minister, Mr. Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, Mr. Sadiq Khan, and dozens of Paddington station staff.

Thereafter, Her Majesty The Queen unveiled a plaque commemorating the opening of the Elizabeth Line and purchased the first ticket using a commemorative Elizabeth Line Oyster card.

The new Elizabeth Line will run over 100km through central London from Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east to Reading and Heathrow in the west. The Elizabeth Line will serve 41 stations including 10 new stations at Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Whitechapel, Canary Wharf, Custom House, Woolwich and Abbey Wood.
