On the morning of Thursday, May 12, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Canada House in London, England. The royal couple will visit Canada from May 17 to 19, 2022 at the invitation of the Canadian Government and to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
In the afternoon, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited University College at Oxford University where he met with students participating in the program, Opportunity Oxford.
Established in 2019, Opportunity Oxford is an ambitious program that helps to prepare “…talented UK offer-holders from under-represented backgrounds for successful undergraduate careers at Oxford University.”
Meanwhile, The Duchess of Cornwall, as the Ship’s Sponsor, visited HMS Prince of Wales at Her Majesty’s Naval Base, in Portsmouth. The aircraft carrier will soon be deployed to the Mediterranean Sea as the flagship for the NATO Response Force Task Group.
HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Hosts a Meeting for The Mary Fonden Governing Body.
On the afternoon of Thursday, May 12, 2022, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark hosted a meeting for The Mary Fonden governing body held at Frederik VIII Palace, Amalienborg, in Copenhagen.
The Mary Fonden is advised and guided by a governing body consisting of the Foundation’s co-founders and leading financial partners.
(VIDEO) TMs King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain Visit the Municipality of Pinofranqueado.
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the municipality of Pinofranqueado, on the occasion of the centenary of King Alfonso XIII’s visit to the Las Hurdes region, in the province of Cáceres, Spain.
Upon their arrival, Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by hundreds of residents from Pinofranqueado and nearby towns. There were cheers with applause and shouts of Long live the King and Long Live the Queen.
After meeting with the residents, Their Majesties visited the town square where they enjoyed watching a folk dance of El Paleo a traditional dance from the area performed by young people.
Thereafter, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia participated in a meeting with the municipal corporation and the mayors from the surrounding area.
His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Presents the Appeltjes van Oranje of the Oranje Fond.
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, as Patron, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands presented the 2022 Appeltjes van Oranje Award of the Oranje Fond (Fund) during a ceremony at the Paleis Noordeinde in Den Haag.
The Appeltjes van Oranje Award is presented annually to three exceptional social initiatives in the kingdom of the Netherlands. According to RVD, the 2022 theme is, “…’Equality of Opportunity for All Young People.’ The prizes are awarded to initiatives in which young people are committed to closing the gap between young people with and without opportunities.“
The winners of the 2022 Appeltjes van Oranje Prize went to Young Leaders Community from Den Haag, JongPIT from Amsterdam and Triple Threat from Haarlem. Along with receiving a bronze Apple statuette, designed by Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, the winners also received a cash prize worth 25,000 Euros.

(VIDEO) His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Meets with the U.S. Speaker of the House, Ms. Nancy Pelosi, in Washington, D.C.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan, met with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Ms. Nancy Pelosi, in Washington, D.C.
The meeting covered the latest regional developments, with His Majesty stressing the need for Middle East countries to work collectively to counter food security challenges, in addition to high prices.
Turning to the Palestinian cause, His Majesty reaffirmed the need to jumpstart the peace process and relaunch negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, on the basis of the two-state solution, guaranteeing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting also covered means of reaching political solutions to regional crises, retaining security and stability for the people of the region, in addition to efforts to counter-terrorism.
US House leadership commended the deeply-rooted historical relations between Jordan and the United States, as well as the Kingdom’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability and achieving peace.
(VIDEOS) TRHs Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg Begin Their State Visit to Portugal.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg began their two-day state visit to Lisbon, Portugal at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Portugal, His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
Upon their arrival at the Praça do Imperio in Lisbon, Their Royal Highnesses were warmly welcomed by President Rebelo de Sousa and other government officials. After participating in the inspection of the Guards of Honor, and the national anthems were played Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were ushered into Belem Presidential Palace. Whilst there the royal couple signed the guest book, held a photo-op for the press and held a meeting with President Rebelo de Sousa.
In the evening, President Rebelo de Sousa hosted a gala state dinner in honor of their royal guests.
