On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain held an audience with representatives from the Fundación de Ayuda contra la Drogadicción (FAD) at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid.

Thereafter, Her Majesty presided over the 2015 Premios a la Acción Magistral (award ceremony) inside the Salón de Magnolias.  The winner of the Educación Infantil y Primaria award went to Spanish author, Ms. Ana Isabel Garrido.  The winner of the  Educación Secundaria, Bachillerato y Especial award went to Ms. Ester Martínez Massana, and finally the winner of the Proyectos en Red went to Mr. Román Ruiz Guirao.

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Presents Certificates to Students.

albOn the evening of Tuesday, December 15, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 2015 Outward Bound Annual Awards ceremony held at the Yacht Club de Monaco in Monte-Carlo.

During the ceremony the sovereign prince, as Patron of Outward Bound Monaco, presented certificates to thirty-seven students who completed Outward Bound program over the summer.

(VIDEO) HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Receives Another Award in NYC.

On the evening of December 14, 2015, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco attended the 20th Annual United Nations Correspondents Association Awards Gala held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

During last Monday’s gala the sovereign prince received the Defender of the Year award for his lifelong dedication to protecting the marine environment as well as raising awareness about climate change.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied by Mr. Louis Ducruet and Miss Camille Gottlieb (children of HSH Princess Stephanie of Monaco) distributed Christmas gifts to Monégasque children at the Palais Princier in Monaco-ville.

TRHs Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark View a Screening of the Series, Versailles.

PJ og PM, 2015, gallaOn the evening of Wednesday, December 16, 2015, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark arrived at the French Embassy in Copenhagen to view a screening of new Canal+ Création Originale series, Versailles.

The ten-part series, starring Mr. George Blagden as the late King Louis XIV of France, analyzes the one of the most important periods in French history “…1667 when King Louis XIV is on the cusp of greatness. A ruthless leader, he will stop at nothing to achieve his vision of creating the most beautiful palace in Europe and seizing absolute control of France and his enemies…” writes the industry newspaper, Deadline.

Rumor has it that the slightly raunchy €27 million series, Versailles, will be picked up by the American network, AMC.  Keep your fingers crossed.   🙂

HM Queen Mathilde of Belgium Views an Exhibition in Gent.

MathildeOn Wednesday, December 16, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Design Museum Gent to view the exhibition, Design Derby: België en Nederland 1825-2015.

The exhibition, developed in collaboration with the Design Museum Gent and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Rotterdam, displays  200 years of design from Belgium and the Netherlands. Over 500 design objects, ranging from intricately engraved silver, glassware and ceramics to contemporary furniture, fashion and graphic design, are exhibited in chronological order and in parallel.

From the Empire through neo-Renaissance to Art Deco and more recent developments such as eco-design and social design the exhibition reveals striking similarities and surprising differences between the two countries. It is the first time that design practices in the Netherlands and Belgium are compared on this scale.

Design Derby: België en Nederland 1825-2015 will be open to the public until March 13, 2016, at the Design Museum Gent.
