On Friday, September 13, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan watched various swimming competitions held at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center in Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan.

They are just too adorable.   🙂

On the evening of September 11, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco accompanied by his nephew, Mr. Pierre Casiraghi, attended the inauguration of the 11th Edition of Monaco Classic Week and toured the historic boat, Le Belem, which was docked at the Port de Fontvielle.

This morning the sovereign prince inaugurated the much needed extension of the Palais de Justice in Monte-Carlo.

Thereafter, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover attended the 2013 Pique-Nique des Monégasques held at the Parc Princesse Antoinette.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark Hangs Out with the Hjemmeværnets.

drf-coaOn September 13, 2013, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark accompanied by her dear friend, Ms. Caroline Heering, were on the island of Bornholm to participate in the Hjemmeværnets (Home Guard) drill, Sikker Solskin, with a bunch of good-looking Danish men in military exercise uniforms.

Members of the Swedish Royal Family Attend the Opening of the Exhibition, 40 År På Tronen: 40 År för Sverige. (VIDEO)

swedenOn September 13, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden gathered in the Rikssalen at the royal palace in Stockholm to attend the opening of the special exhibition, 40 År På Tronen: 40 År för Sverige.

The exhibition tells the story of His Majesty’s 40 years as the king of Sweden and Head of State via images as well as objects “…in the palace’s Hall of State and the magnificent Royal Apartments” according to the Swedish royal court.

Anyway, during today’s opening Her Royal Highness Princess Christina of Sweden gave a lovely speech and then declared the exhibition open.

HM Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Opens the Fries Museum.

maximaHer Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands was in the city center of Leeuwarden this afternoon to officially open the new Fries Museum.

According to the official website for the museum there are over 170,000 objects contained in their collection which:

“…tells the stories of Friesland and its inhabitants. The objects range from archaeological finds to modern art, from the freedom fighter Grutte Pier’s sword and one of Mata Hari’s brassieres to paintings by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema and Gerrit Benner. Friesland’s art, culture and history are brought to life in the museum.”

Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium Visits a Special Exhibition at the Musée du Louvre-Lens. (VIDEOS)

MathildeOn the morning of Friday, September 13, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Musée du Louvre-Lens in northern France to view the temporary exhibition, L’Europe de Rubens: 170 Oeuvres de l’Artiste, de ses Modèles et de sees Contemporains.

According to the official website for the Musée du Louvre-Lens the exhibition:

“…contains paintings, drawings, sculptures and objets d’art. The aim is to reconstruct the dynamism of Rubens’ creation and convey the spectacular nature of his inspiration. It also offers some intimate moments, revealing Rubens’ more personal side.  

L’Europe de Rubens is organized into six themes: the Europe of Courts, Religious Emotion and Baroque Faith, Ephemeral Monumentality, Rubens, Emulation and Competition, Ruben and the Republic of Letters, and the Paths of Genius.”
