MathildeHer Royal Highness Princess Mathilde of Belgium arrived at the Palais des Academies in Brussels this afternoon to attend the 2013 Prix GSK Vaccines.

The award is presented “…every three years to a French-speaking and a Flemish Belgian medical researchers who have made a significant contribution to the field of vaccinology and immunology…” according to the Belgian royal court.

During today’s conference the sovereign prince attended the morning plenary session entitled, Has Traditional Media Been Caught in the Web? Afterward, Prince Albert II participated in the plenary session entitled, Is There Hope for a Green Tomorrow, along with the Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program, Ms. Ertharin Cousin, the Director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, Professor Ernesto Zedillo, and the founder of Better Place, Mr. Shai Agassi.

TMs King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Visit Tromsø, Norway. (VIDEO)

On June 19, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden continued their visit to northern Norway and this afternoon Their Majesties accompanied by Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway visited the city of Tromsø.

After disembarking from the K/S Norge the reigning couples were warmly greeted by the mayor of Tromsø, Mr. Jens Hjort, as well as by other local officials.   Soon, Their Majesties visited the Polarmuseets where they watched a presentation about “…climate change in the Arctic…”  From there they visited the University of Tromsø, toured the Arctic-Alpine Botanic Garden, visited the Nordnorsk Kunstmusem, and took a walking tour of the town center in Tromsø.
