Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden hosted a gala dinner held at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm this evening in honor of their daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her fiancé, Mr. Christopher O’Neill.  The couple will marry tomorrow afternoon at the Slottskyrkan at the royal palace in Stockholm.

Anyway, guests attending this evening’s private dinner included Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark, Their Highnesses Hereditary Prince Hubertus and Hereditary Princess Kelly of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana of Greece, Her Royal Highness Princess Theodora of Greece, His Royal Highness Prince Philippos of Greece, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco, Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Her Highness Princess Martha-Louise of Norway and Mr. Ari Behn to name a few.

News Regarding TSHs Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco. (VIDEO)

Recently, Their Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco visited the Polish embassy in Paris, France.  The building which houses the embassy was constructed in the “…18th century at the request of Maria Caterina Brignole de Sale, Princess of Monaco…

Anyway, the purpose of the princely couple’s visit to the Polish embassy was to “…inaugurate the Jubilé du Prince de Monaco Jardin des Roses …” as well as to celebrate Monégasque and Polish relations.  In the evening there was a gala dinner held in the princely couple’s honor at the embassy.

Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visits Thomashuis. (VIDEO)

pssmaxima2011On Friday, June 7, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Houten to attend the 10th anniversary of Thomashuis, a home for “…adults with a intellectual limitation which are led by 2 care providers who live in the house and 8 residents.”

Update on the Health of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

On June 7, 2013, Buckingham Palace issued a statement regarding the health of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh:

“His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has had an exploratory operation following abdominal investigations.

The results will now be analysed.

At this early stage he is progressing satisfactorily.

Further updates will continue to be issued when appropriate.”

The 91-year-old duke was admitted (which was apparently planned some time ago) to the London Clinic yesterday after attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. (VIDEOS)

On June 7, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II officially “…opened the BBC’s newly revamped Broadcasting House…” in London.  During today’s visit Her Majesty met with staff, was given a tour of the BBC headquarters, watched to a live performance by the Irish band, The Script, and officially opened the new Broadcasting House live on BBC Radio 4.

TIMs Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan Welcome French President, François Hollande, to Tokyo. (VIDEOS)

On Friday, June 7, 2013, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan officially welcomed the president of France, Mr. François Hollande, and his partner, Ms. Valerie Trierweiler, to Tokyo.

After an official welcoming ceremony at the Imperial Palace the emperor and empress hosted a gala dinner in the evening on honor of President Hollande visit to Tokyo, Japan.

The president and his delegation will remain in Japan for the next three days where they will met with various Japanese government leaders and businessmen.  The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and France as well as to “…deepen their cooperation on nuclear technology and to discuss joint development of military equipment, vowing to raise the tenor of their partnership.”
