Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden arrived at the Stockholm Concert Hall to attend the 2013 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) ceremony. The ALMA is one of the “…biggest international children’s and young adult literature award[s] in the world.”
During today’s event the heir to the Swedish throne presented the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award to writer and artist, Miss Marisol Misenta. For more information about today’s event please click here.
On Monday, May 27, 2013, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands arrived in Den Haag to participate in the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
The ICTY is a:
“…United Nations court of law dealing with war crimes that took place during the conflicts in the Balkans in the 1990’s. Since its establishment in 1993 it has irreversibly changed the landscape of international humanitarian law and provided victims an opportunity to voice the horrors they witnessed and experienced.”

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales arrived in Langenburg, Germany this morning to attend the 2013 Langenburg Forum on Regional Food Security held at Schloss Langenburg.
According to a press release via Clarence House The Prince of Wales was invited to participate in the forum:
“…by his cousin, His Serene Highness Prince Philipp of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, in recognition of the work by The Prince of Wales’s International Sustainability Unit. The 2013 Langenburg Forum on Regional Food Security brings together individuals and organizations from across the food industry as well as environmental and consumer groups, government representatives, food security and international agriculture experts.
Debates during the forum addressed the issue of the structure of food supply chains and exploring how they could be adapted to help return greater value back into food systems. Participants discussed ways to ensure the sustainability and the quality of food through the development of more local food supply as well as the diverse local agricultures on which they depend.”
After participating in a roundtable discussion “…on the opportunities to enhance local food systems…” the prince attended a reception with participants of today’s forum.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco arrived in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg this morning to attend the opening ceremony of the XV Games of the Small States of Europe.
Prior to the opening ceremony the sovereign prince met with Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and Their Royal Highnesses Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie at the Grand Ducal Palace.

On Monday, May 27, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium attended the “…Federal Award ceremony for Poverty Reduction…” in Brussels. And, that’s it. 🙂
On the morning of May 27, 2013, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium hosted a reception at the Palais Royal de Bruxelles for those attending the 36th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting.
The Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting is:
“…the primary forum for the representatives of Parties to the Antarctic Treaty to exchange information and formulate measures, decisions and resolutions to further the principles and objectives of the Treaty. The outcomes of Treaty meetings are adopted by consensus of the Consultative Parties.”
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Paris, France this morning to begin her two-day visit:
“…on behalf of her charity, Emmaus UK, a charity which supports homeless people by giving them a hone within one of the Emmaus Communities as well as work in one of its social enterprises, to help them get back on their feet and re-build their lives.”
