H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Aquarium de San Sebastián in Spain on Friday, November 25, 2011.
Upon his arrival the prince was greeted by the president of the aquarium, the deputy of the Government in Gipuzkoa, Pedro Luis Rio, the Basque Minister of Culture, Blanca Urgell, and the speaker of the City of San Sebastian, Joshua Ruiz.
Following the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the lobby, the prince placed a wreath below a portrait of his grandfather, Albert I of Monaco. Then he signed the book of honor and toured the aquarium. Afterward, Prince Albert II visited the Balenciaga Museum which displays four gowns designed by Balenciaga for his mother, Princess Grace. The designs were given to the museum in 2003. After viewing the exhibit Prince Albert told reporters that his visit to the museum was “…very emotional…”
