His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain Meets with Former President Bill Clinton. (VIDEOS)

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain met with former President Bill Clinton on September 23, 2012, in New York City.  The old king is in the city to attend the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Meeting which ends on September 25, 2012.

Other royals will be attending this important event including Her Majesty Queen Rania al Abdullah of Jordan, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, and Her Highness Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel of Saudi Arabia to name a few.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Presides Over the 8th Simposio Internacional “Avances en la enfermedad de Alzheimer” (VIDEO)

On Friday, September 21, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain presided over the 8th Simposio Internacional “Avances en la Enfermedad de Alzheimer” (8th International Symposium “Advances in Alzheimer’s Disease) held at the Centro Alzheimer de la Fundación Reina Sofía.

The purpose of the meeting was to bring together scientists, researchers, Neurologists, and institutions to discuss “… the latest findings in their research on Alzheimer’s disease and their application to treatment.”

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Inaugurates the 4th Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo de la Fundación ONCE. Plus, Other News. (VIDEO)

On September 20, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain inaugurated the 4th Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo de la Fundación ONCE held at the Centro Cultural Conde Duque in Madrid.

The exhibition, organized by the Fundación ONCE, promotes the work of 40 artists with disabilities or those who find their inspiration in disability according to the Spanish royal court.

Yesterday, Her Majesty attended the opening of the Forum Evolución Burgos.  Whilst there she unveiled a new plaque, toured the new complex, and attended a concert.

On September 19, 2012, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain held an audience at the Palacio Real de Madrid with members of the Regimiento de Caballería Acorazado “Alcántara” 10, “… on the occasion of the award of the Distinguished Cross Collective of San Fernando Hunters Regiment “Alcántara” 14th Cavalry.” 

Meanwhile at the Bilbao Exhibition Center in Bilbao, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias attended the opening of the 6th Annual BioSpain Forum.

BioSpain is a “… forum for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences among all stakeholders in the biotechnology sector, which has become a major platform for presenting Spanish biotechnology internationally.”

Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain Visits the Centro de Adopción de la Asociación Nacional de Amigos de los Animales. (VIDEO)

On September 18, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain visited the Centro de Adopción de la Asociación Nacional de Amigos de los Animales (Center for Abandoned Animals Adoption of the Naional Association of Friends of Animals) outside of Madrid.

According to the official website for the center:

“The National Association of Friends of Animals is a non-profit organization that was founded in Madrid, Spain, in 1992, in response to the high number of animals that are neglected and abused in our country… 

 The animals at our center receive the care they need including food, exercise, love and veterinary care. The ANAA Adoption Center is intended as a place of passage, since the aim is that all animals are adoptable and find a family that will provide the necessary conditions for optimal quality of life. In ANAA Adoption Centre staff work daily so engaged as volunteers who selflessly give their time, in order that the animals are in the best possible conditions.”
