On Friday, May 8, 2015, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark officially opened the Ringsted Krisecenters Sensory Garden and Playground in Ringsted.

According to a press release this special:

“…project born about two years ago after visiting the therapy gardens where it’s all about nature’s importance for the well-being and rehabilitation.

The crisis center in Ringsted has created a garden that will serve as a haven for the abused and threatened women and children residing in the shelter. The children have been rare and challenging play areas, and created opportunity for conversations and meetings can be moved outside.

The garden is established with the support of numerous donors: .P. Møller Fonden, Trygfonden, Agenda 21 Ringsted, Ringsted Soroptimistklub, Lions Club Ringsted Knud Lavard, Lions Ringsted og elever fra Sct. Josephs Skole.”

On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark unveiled yet another new portrait of herself at the famous Nationalmuseet in Copenhagen.  The interesting new painting entitled, At Skabe Billeder af Billeder, was created by Danish-born Barcelona-based artist, Mr. Lars Physant.

According to a press release via the Nationamuseet, the painting:

“…embraces the Queen’s deep interest in archeology and links a special bond to Gorm the Old and Harald Bluetooth.

Queen [is] sitting in her favorite reading corner at Fredensborg Slot with an open book, about archeology, on her lap. On the wall behind her one sees from the bird’s-eye view, a plan of the monuments at Jelling, when the first kings traveled more than 1,000 years ago…

The portrait is divided into 12 different fields and surfaces painted on wood with relief structure in which each field is its own universe…”

On Tuesday, February 10, 2015, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark accompanied by their four children, Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena, posed for the press during their annual ski holiday in Col de Bretaye, Switzerland.

On the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2015, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended the DR1 Sport 2014 event held at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning.  During this evening’s gathering the future king of Denmark will present the Købstædernes Forsikrings Pris, Danmarks Olympiske Håb (Denmark’s Olympic Hope), to a worthy recipient.

On the morning of January 6, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark hosted a New Year reception at Christian VII’s Palace, Amalienborg, for the Danish Kongelige Livgardes and Gardehusarregimentets Officerskorps (Royal Life Guards and the Regiments Officer Corps) as well as for the Danish Supreme Court judges.
