It’s been quite some time since the royal-watching world has seen His Serene Highness Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and former model/author, Miss Carina Axelsson, together at an event. Many began to believe the two lovebirds broke up since Miss Axelsson moved to beautiful Dorset, England while Prince Gustav — son of Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark and the late His Serene Highness Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg — remained at the stunning Schloss Berleburg in Germany. However, that may not be the case. The happy couple might, well, be a couple again. Or, maybe they never broke up. Whatever the case may be it’s nice to see them out and about again.
Anyway, on the weekend of April 9, Prince Gustav and Miss Axelsson along with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended a lovely 50th birthday party for their dear friend, Mrs. Birgitte Handwerk, in Copenhagen. Birgitte’s husband is Mr. Jeppe Handwerk one of Crown Prince Frederik’s closest friends since his days in the Danish military.
According to the Danish magazine, Her og Nu, Prince Gustav and Miss Axelsson along with the crown princely couple attended a service at the Sankt Pauls Kirke in Nyboder. Thereafter, the foursome along with 140 other guests attended Mrs. Handwerk’s 50th birthday party at Sølyst in Klampenborg.
Finally, if you’re unfamiliar with Miss Carina Axelsson, well, years ago I wrote a small article about the former model turned author. I admit that the article was a tad too snarky, and honestly, I regret it. All these years later, I feel bad about the article; to the point I almost deleted it. But, I didn’t. I might write a new article about Miss Axelsson since a lot has changed for her since 2011. Today, she is a well-known Young Adult author with several book series under her belt. She has an interesting Instagram account which focuses on her love of gardening, books, animals and more. With that being said, if you want to read my original article about Miss Axelsson simply click here.
