On Sunday, July 12, 2015, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium accompanied by her youngest daughter, Princess Eléonore, attended a special Mass and the Bénédiction de la Mer (Blessing of the Sea) on the beach in Blankenberge.
After Mass the Priest along with parishioners boarded several boats. Then, the Priest said a prayer (to protect all fisherman and sailors), blessed the sea while the parishioners tossed flowers and garlands into the sea.
Last week His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Club des Résident Étrangers de Monaco (CREM) in Monte-Carlo. The sovereign prince is Honorary President of the club.
The purpose of the CREM is to “…create a place where foreign residents can meet and help each other, to help the community and contribute to the development of the [principality], to reinforce Monaco’s reputation across the world, and to promote friendship among its members and good relations across different nationalities.”
