On Saturday, June 28, 2014, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London to attend the “…ceremonial Drumhead Service of Remembrance for those who volunteered to serve in the First World War…” according to AFP News. The ceremony is being held on the 100th anniversary of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

On Friday, June 27, 2014, Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan continued their visit to Okinawa Prefecture. Yesterday, the imperial couple visited the Kozakura no To memorial in Naha “…which is dedicated to those who died while evacuating Okinawa in advance of the approaching war (WWII)…” according to Kyodo News.
Thereafter, the emperor and empress visited the Tsushima-Maru Memorial Museum. Whilst there the imperial couple met with the:
“…survivors and family members of the victims of the sinking of the Tsushima Maru. Approximately 1,500 victims, mostly schoolchildren, were killed when a U.S. submarine torpedoed their transport ship off Kagoshima Prefecture in 1944…”

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands Attends the Reopening of the Mauritshuis.
On Friday, June 27, 2014, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the reopening of the newly renovated Mauritshuis in Den Haag.
According to RVD, the museum houses famous works by:
“…Dutch and Flemish painters of the Dutch Golden Age. Masterpieces include ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ by Vermeer, ‘The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp’ by Rembrandt and ‘The Goldfinch’ Fabritius.
The core of the collection consists of paintings that were once owned by William V, Prince of Orange-Nassau. Before the Mauritshuis in 1822 became a public museum, among others the building served as the residence of Count Johan Maurits of Nassau Siegen, governor of the Dutch colony in Brazil.”

HRH Prince Carl Philip of Sweden Engaged to a Former Reality T.V. Star. (VIDEOS)
On Friday, June 27, 2014, the Swedish royal court announced that His Royal Highness Prince Carl-Philip of Sweden has become engaged to former reality television star and gentlemen’s magazine — hence nude — model, Miss Sofia Hellqvist.
The couple will marry in the summer of 2015.
