His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan Meets With the President of China. Plus, Other News. (VIDEOS)

On his final day in Beijing, China, His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan met with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, inside the Great Hall of People.

After an official welcoming ceremony, His Majesty and President Jinping got down to business.  Discussions between the two leaders mainly focused on bilateral relations, ways to achieve peace in the Middle East, and the crisis in Syria and the immense burden the crisis has put on Jordan by hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.

According to several sources including AFP, His Majesty King Abdullah II “…called on China to play an active role in resolving the conflict in Syria, saying that Beijing should use its influence as a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council and as a ‘friend of Jordan and the Middle East.’” 

After his meeting with President Jinping His Majesty met with the Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang.

Yesterday, His Majesty participated in a roundtable discussion at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and opened the 1st Edition of the China-Jordan Business Forum in Beijing.

Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visit Madrid, Spain. (VIDEOS)

On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived in Madrid, Spain for a one-day visit.

Once the reigning couple touched down at the airport they were greeted with open arms by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Asturias as well as various Spanish officials.  Soon, the reigning  couple and their hosts were off to Palacio de la Zarzuela where Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain accompanied by Her Royal Highness Infanta Elena of Spain were waiting for the new king and queen of the Netherlands.

After a brief photo-op for the press Their Majesties were ushered into the palace where they attended a luncheon held in their honor and hosted by King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia.

Thereafter, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Congreso de los Diputados and met with the Spanish Prime Minister, Mr. Mariano Rajoy, at Palacio de la Moncloa according to RVD.

On Saturday, September 14, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover and her daughter, Ms. Charlotte Casiraghi, attended a concert at the Salle Garnier in tribute to the late Monégasque composer, Mr. Léo Ferré.

Guests in attendance listened as L’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, under the direction of Mr. Gianluigi Gelmetti, played various works by the late composer.

eowOn Monday, September 16, 2013, His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex arrived on the island of Jersey to begin his two-day visit.

Yesterday, the youngest child of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh presided over a ceremony where he presented “…four young islanders with the gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award…” according to Channel Online TV.

Today, The Earl of Wessex attended a ceremony in celebration of the 350th anniversary of the presentation of the Royal Mace.

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark Attend the Inauguration of Brede Allé.

QMII and PHOn the afternoon of September 17, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark attended the inauguration of the newly restored Brede Allé in the gardens at Fredensborg Slot.

According to the Danish royal court and the Danish newspaper, Sjællands Nyheder, the restoration of Brede Allé began in 2009 with an incredibly generous grant — 53.6 million DKK — from AP Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond.

How nice of them.   🙂
