On the morning of June 12, 2013, His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan visited the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas in Madrid. Whilst there the heir to theChrysanthemum throne viewed the exhibition, Lacas Namban: Huellas de Japón en España IV Centenario de la Embajada Keichô.
Afterward, the crown prince visited the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu home of the famous Real Madrid football team. Whilst there Crown Prince Naruhito met with president of Real Madrid, Mr. Florentino Pérez.
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay continued their tour of Scotland this morning with visits to two textile mills and a school.
The first stop for the royal couple was the Moorbrook Textiles’ Robert Noble Mill in Peebles. Whilst there the duke and duchess met with staff, toured the facility and learned more about the “…company’s sourcing and exports.”
Soon, they were off to visit the School of Textile and Design at Heriot Watt University in Galashiels. Upon their arrival the royal couple were warmly welcomed by administrative staff and students.
Afterward, The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay arrived at “…Johnston’s of Elgin where they were given a tour of the mill, met with staff and viewed the production at Eastfield Mills in Hawick…” according to Clarence House.

On the morning of June 12, 2013, His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium arrived at the Technology Park in Zwijnaarde to tour the biotech company, Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie (VIB). The purpose of his visit was to learnabout the “…recent advances in biotechnology and workings of the VIB…” according to the Belgian royal court.
Meanwhile in Laeken, Her Majesty Queen Paola of Belgium attended the inauguration of the newly restored Cressonnière. According to the Belgian royal court the location was “…closed in 2007, redeveloped with a path along the Van Praet Avenue…” Click hereto view photos.
On June 11, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden arrived at Gripsholms Slott in Mariefred to unveil a new portrait by Swedish artist, Mr. Urban Larsson, of Her Majesty Queen Silvia.
The new oil painting will be on permanent display at the Statens Porträttsamling at Gripsholms Slott.
