So, You Want to Watch the Swedish Royal Wedding? Details You Need to Know. (UPDATES)
So, you want to watch the royal wedding between Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill, eh? Well, here are a few things you need to know before the ceremony.
The royal wedding will take place at the beautiful Slottskyrkan on Saturday, June 8, 2013, and will be broadcast live online to those living in and outside of Sweden on Sveriges Television (SVT).
Here is the link which will air the wedding. Bookmark it. 🙂
The wedding begins at 16:00 (4pm) Stockholm time. I highly suggest that you log onto SVT at least an hour and a half prior to the royal wedding. Also, here is a time convertor which will tell you when the wedding begins in your time zone.
After the wedding there will be a 21-gun salute, a cortège route so locals can see the new princess couple, a boat ride to Drottningholms Slott, and finally a gala dinner at Drottningholm Slott hosted by Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.
If for some reason you cannot connect to SVT the German network, ZDF, will also air the wedding live online. ** BILD.de (or this link) will also stream the royal wedding live online, and your lovely host will be Count Alexander von Schönburg.
Other networks such as RTL Belgium and ORF2 Austria will only broadcast the royal wedding live on television and online to those who reside in those countries. Sorry.
Also, if you are on Twitter you can join the live discussions with other royal watchers using the hashtags #Prinsessbröllopet, #PrincessMadeleine, #Sweden, #Stockholm, #SVT, #RoyalWedding, #ChrisONeill, and #SwedishRoyalWedding (I am sure there will be new hashtags in the days to come so check back if you like for updates). 🙂
Finally, if you are interested in watching several archival clips of Princess Madeleine courtesy of SVT please click here.
And, that’s it for now. If there are any new updates I will let you know. Otherwise, bookmark the SVT link and enjoy the wedding on Saturday! 🙂
