Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Participates in the “Feeding the World” Conference in Amsterdam. (VIDEO)

pssmaxima2011On January 30, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, attended the Feeding the World conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam.

Guests in attendance during today’s event included “…government representatives, international organizations, academic institutions and representatives from the agricultural sector.”  According to RVD, the purpose of the Feeding the World conference was to “…discuss the future of global food production, sustainability and more.”

Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden Attend the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry’s 200th Formal Gathering.

HisMajestyKCGOn January 28, 2013, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry’s 200th formal gathering held at the Stockholm City Hall.

Per the Swedish royal court:

“The formal gathering began with President Kerstin Niblaeus welcoming all those present and declaring the gathering open. 

The King then gave a speech, in which he said, ‘During the past two hundred years, there have been enormous advances in Swedish agriculture, in terms of both productivity and efficiency. The role of the Academy has also changed over the years. 

The authority commissions have disappeared, and the Academy has increasingly become a forum for discussions on topical issues…’”
