On the morning of December 12, 2012, Their Majesties King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium made a private visit to the Palais de Beaux-Arts in Brussels where they viewed the exhibition entitled, Constant Permeke: Retrospective.

His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias was at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, to attend the 100th anniversary gala celebrations of the founding of the Spanish Olympic Committee.
On December 12, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands along with Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, and Princess Mabel attended the 2012 Prins Claus Prijs held at the Koninklijk Paleis in Amsterdam.
The recipient of the 2012 Prins Claus Prijs went to the Argentine non-profit publishing house, Eloísa Cartonera. The company produces:
“… handmade books made of recycled materials. The materials are collected by Cartoneros, or “cardboard people” who are unemployed and survived Argentina’s political and economic collapse in 2001. Drawn to Eloísa Cartonera’s social solidarity, emerging and established Latin American writers donated their short stories, novels and other forms of literature to the company. The collective, small-scale method produces books that are cheaper than conventional paperbacks.”
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall visited the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home on December 12, 2012. The purpose of her visit was to “… meet with staff and volunteers, and tour the charity’s facilities.”

Recently, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Institut de Paléontologie Humaine in Paris, France to preside over the 2012 Prince Rainier III de Monaco Research Award. This award“…recognize young researchers for their work on the prehistory. The recipients of this years award went to Ms. Elena Rossoni-Notter and Mr. Mehmet Cihat Alcicek …”
And, finally, this morning in Monaco, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene distributed gifts to dozens of Monégasque children during the traditional Fête de Noël at the Palais Princier. Besides receiving lovely gifts the children also had a chance to eat lots of sweets and well as play games.
