News Regarding HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill.

PMCO2012It was announced by the Swedish royal court that the Swedish network, SVT, has purchased the rights to broadcast the wedding of Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Mr. Christopher O’Neill.

SVT project manager, Mr. Per Rådelius, stated, We are proud to have been commissioned to be the host broadcaster for another royal wedding and look forward to producing the broadcast [of the wedding]…”

The Princess Madeleine and Mr. O’Neill will marry on June 8, 2013, at the Slottskyrkan at the royal palace in Stockholm.  The ceremony begins at 4P.M. Swedish time.

Let’s hope SVT does another great job of airing the upcoming wedding (hence similar to that of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden’s wedding on June 19, 2010.  If you saw their wedding live then you know what I am talking about).   🙂

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends a Conference.

PssMaximaOn April 9, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands attended the Currency Exchange Fund conference held at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam.

During today’s event the future Queen of the Netherlands gave a keynote speech in her capacity as the Special Advocate of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Field of Inclusive Finance for Development.

Their Serene Highnesses Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie Algae of Liechtenstein Visit Vienna, Austria. Plus, Other News.(VIDEO)

On April 9, 2013, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie Algae of Liechtenstein arrived in Vienna, Austria to begin their one-day official visit.

Upon their arrival at the beautiful Hofburg Palace Prince Hans-Adam II and Princess Marie Algae were welcomed by the President of Austria, Mr. Heinz Fischer and his wife, as well as by several government officials.  After the traditional military honors ceremony in the courtyard of the Hofburg the princely couple were ushered into the palace for a brief photo-op.  Then, Prince Hans-Adam II and President Fischer accompanied by their delegations participated in a meeting inside the President’s office.  Discussions focused on the usual.  You know, bilateral and economic relations, etc, etc.

In the afternoon, a luncheon was held in the Prince and Princess’s honor at the palace.  Two hours later the princely couple toured Klosterneuburg Abbey and in the evening they, along with Their Serene Highnesses Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein, visited the Stadtpalais Liechtenstein in Vienna.

HRH Prince Daniel of Sweden Visits the Berättarministeriet.

danielOn April 8, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel of Sweden was in Södertälje where he visited the Berättarministeriet.  According to the Swedish royal court the Berättarministeriet is a:

“…writing workshop for children and young people aged 8-18 years from areas with high unemployment. The aim of Berättarministeriet is to improve the socio-economic mobility in the community by providing an enjoyable and creative way to inspire children and young people to conquer the written word. Berättarministeriet is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious foundation which is run in collaboration between the private, public and nonprofit sectors…”

News Regarding Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan. (VIDEO)

On April 8, 2013, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan held an audience with the Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Chair of the United Nations Development Group (UNDG), Ms. Helen Clark, in Amman.  According to the Petra News Agency, discussions focused on:

 “…regional consultations on the post-2015 development agenda.  Her Majesty, as a member of the U.N. High Level Panel (HLP) that will help advise on the shape of the post-2015 development agenda, discussed with Ms. Clark the outputs of her meetings with Arab leaders from civil society, research institutes and academia held last month to outline the main development challenges and priorities of the Arab world which will help shape the post-2015 development agenda.”

And, finally, Her Majesty Queen Rania also participated in a board meeting with members of the “…Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education (QRAEE) who briefed her on new elements incorporated into this year’s cycle” according to the Petra News Agency.

Spanish-king-s-son-in-law-007Disgraced former handball player, husband of Infanta Cristina of Spain, son-in-law of Their Majesties King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain, suspect in a mega-corruption case and overall jerk, Mr. Iñaki Urdangarín, the Duke of Palma, has decided to get the heck out of Spain.

According to the Spanish newspaper, El Pais, Mr. Urdangarín was recently offered a new position in a land far, far away from Spain.  So where is this job and what will he be doing?  Well, it seems that he was offered a position as a handball coach… in Qatar.  The disgraced duke will “…work alongside the Spanish coach Valero Rivera training the Qatari national team and may be joined by his wife, Princess Cristina, and their four children at the end of the school year.  The king’s advisers spoke to Qatari officials to secure the position for Urdangarín…” according to Bloomberg News via El Pais.
