On April 9, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Asturias presided over the El Barco de Vapor and Gran Angula Youth Literature Awards ceremony held at the Real Casa de Corrreos in Madrid.
It was announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will attend the funeral of the former Prime Minister the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher at St. Paul’s Cathedral on April 17, 2013.

In other news, on April 23, 2013, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge will visit the Willows Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester. During her visit the Duchess will “…launch a new school counseling program in partnership between the Royal Foundation, Comic Relief, Place2Be and Action on Addiction.”
On the evening of April 8, 2013, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco was at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris to attend the opening of the exhibition, Le Monde Enchanté de Jacques Demy.
On April 9, 2013, His Royal Highness Prince Felipe of Asturias held audiences at Palacio Real de El Pardo with the committee of the XVIII promoción de la Academia General del Aire and a group of Spanish Naval captains and colonels. And, that’s it. 🙂
On April 9, 2013, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden presided over the “…presentation of the Swedish Export Prize held at the Stockholm City Hall.”
According to the Swedish royal court the Export Prize is an annual award which began in 2005 with the aim of identifying best Swedish export companies. This year’s Grand Export prize went to the company, Envirotainer AB.
On April 9, 2013, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway was at the Scandic Hotel Fornebu in Oslo to attend the High-Level Meeting on Energy and the Post-2015 Development Agendaconference. During today’s opening the crown prince gave a keynote speech along with the Norwegian Minister of International Development, Mr. Heikki Holmås, and the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Alhindawi.
According to the official website for today’s event the purpose of the conference is to:
“…consider the results of the consultations and provide recommendations to the UN Secretary-General’s High Level Panel on the post-2015 development agenda. The meeting will examine potential global energy objectives and proposals for processes on how to continue engage with key stakeholders towards 2015 at national, regional and global levels.”
On the evening of April 7, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline of Hanover was at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco to attend a “…homage celebration…” on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of the late Pablo Picasso.
During last night’s event guests watched the film, Le Mystère Picasso, directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot.
