Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Receives the Machiavelliprijs Award (VIDEO)

On February 8, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was at the Nieuwspoort Press Center in Den Haag where she received the Machiavelliprijs Award from the Machiavellprijs Foundation president, Marja Wagenaar.

The princess received the award for her “…work as the Princess of the Netherlands.  Furthermore, for her ability to successfully communicate to a wider audience as well as to connect with various groups within the Dutch population.”

Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands Attends the Opening of ‘Westland on Stage’ (VIDEO)

On February 7, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was in Poeldijk to participate in the opening of the 3rd Edition of the “… professional orientation fair…” entitled, Westland on Stage.

Today’s event brought together students and professionals whereupon the students can ask the professionals questions about their jobs.  In other words, “… the goal is to support and help the students make an informed career choice.”

‘Het Oranje Fonds, De Prins En De Prinses’ A Documentary With T.R.H.s Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands (VIDEO)

Here is the RTL4 documentary, Het Oranje Fonds, De Prins En De Prinses‘, on the occasion of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands 10th wedding anniversary.  So what is Het Oranje Fonds you may ask?  Well, according to a press release from RTL:

…the Orange Fund was established as the national wedding gift for Prince Willem-Alexander and Máxima. The Oranje Fund aims to promote the involvement of society in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. By the support people are so they are less lonely, they meet each other or they find a new place in society. So for example, contributions are given to village houses, youth centres, elderly and societies, but also shelters to projects assisted living, language lessons by volunteers and buddies and mentor initiatives. The budget of the Oranje Fund is for the most part come from the proceeds of the national postal code Lottery and Lotto. The rest comes from donations from individuals and companies. source

Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary to Their Royal Highnesses Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands! (VIDEOS)

On February 2, 2002, His Royal Highness Prince Willem-Alexander of Oranje married married the vivacious Argentine, Miss Máxima Zorreguieta.  The couple met in 1999 in Sevilla, Spain during the Feria de Abril de Sevilla (it’s a fair thingy).

After years of dating, and with the final approval of the Dutch parliament to marry, Willem-Alexander and Máxima announced their engagement on March 30, 2001.

Less than a year later the couple were married. First, there was civil ceremony held at the Beurs van Berlage then a lavish religious ceremony held at the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

Today the couple have three daughters and the princess is remains one of the most popular members of the Dutch royal family.

Random Royal News Regarding Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands and H.R.H. Princess Clotilde of Venice and Piedmont. (VIDEO)

On January 31, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands was in Amsterdam to attend the opening of the project Open Inloop Taal on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Cybersoek.

According to the Dutch online newspaper, Nieuws van Nederland, Open Inloop Taal project/program provides “…local residents who want to improve their Dutch reading, writing and language skills…”  at the Cybersoek.  The latter offers computer courses to people of all ages as well as provides a place where the local people can meet and network.  Click here to view photos.

Afterward, the princess attended the Women Entrepreneurs Conference in Den Haag.  As a member of the Committee for Entrepreneurship and Financing it was her duty and pleasure to attend this event which “…mentors and aims at encouraging more success and growth for female entrepreneurs…” in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, on January 30, 2012, Princess Clotilde of Venice and Piedmont attended the AVEC gala benefit dinner held at the gorgeous Château de Versailles.  The event, organized by Professor David Khayat, was attended by royal historian, Stéphane Bern, model Tasha de Vasconcelos, François Pinault, Sylvie Tellier, and Pierre Hermé to name a few.  Click here to view  photos.

Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands in Amsterdam

On January 26, 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands participated in  the symposium entitled, Leesbevordering: Dat doet de bieb! (Promotion of Reading: The Library Does), in Amsterdam.

As honorary president of the Association of Public Libraries (VOB) the princess gave a speech regarding the importance of libraries which “…improves language development, reading and writing.”  Today’s event also honored Professor E. Jurgens who recently retired as the President of the Association of Public Libraries (VOB).
