The King and Queen of the Netherlands Tour the Island of Aruba. (VIDEOS)

dutchOn November 20, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands began their two-day visit of the island of Aruba.

The day began with a welcoming ceremony on L.G. Smith Boulevard in Oranjestad where hundreds of people came out to see the new king and queen of the Netherlands.  Then, Their Majesties met with the governor of Aruba, Mr. Fredis Jose Refunjol, the Prime Minister of Aruba, Mr. Mike Eman, as well as with other government officials.

In the afternoon, Their Majesties participated in a discussion about the future of Aruba in San Nicolas, and in the evening attended a gala celebration at the Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins.

Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands Attends a Celebration at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw.

beatrixOn Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands attended the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Heidemaatschappij (KNHM) and the ARCADIS held at the Koninklijk Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

According to RVD, the KNHM was:

“…founded in 1888 with the aim to advise and encourage the cultivation of new land, carry out irrigation and land improvement and the creation and maintenance of forests.”

The King and Queen of the Netherlands Visit Curaçao; Day 2. (VIDEO)

KingWAOn Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands continued their tour of the island of Curaçao.

This morning Their Majesties left the capital of Willemstad and drove to West Point located — you guessed it — on western part of the island.  Anyway, the reigning couple visited a local fishing village where hundreds of people came out to see them.  Thereafter, they visited the Tula Museum.

In the afternoon, Their Majesties travelled to Fort Amsterdam, on the eastern side of the island, where they visited the Fortchurch Museum, mingled with locals, and attended a reception with the governor.

The King and Queen of the Netherlands Tour the Island of Curaçao. (VIDEO)

MWAOn Monday, November 18, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived on the beautiful island of Curaçao for a one-day tour.

The day began with a welcoming ceremony hosted by the governor of Curaçao, Lucille George-Wout, at Government Square in Willemstad.  Soon, Their Majesties attended a meeting with the Prime Minister of  Curaçao, Ivar Asjes, and with other government officials.

In the afternoon, Their Majesties visited the Marnix College and Marnix FO-school, toured the University of Curaçao where they met with students and staff, opened the Caribbean Research and Management of Biodiversity Foundation’s new building, completed a walkabout in the district of Otrobanda, and attended a gala reception in the Brionplein square.

Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Tour the Island of Bonaire. (VIDEOS)

dutchOn Saturday, November 16, 2013, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands arrived on the island of Bonaire for a one-day tour.

The day began with a reception at the Flamingo International Airport with various dignitaries and officials.  Soon, the reigning couple were driven to Wilhelmina Square in Kralendijk where they mingled with the locals, watched various sports demonstrations, and witnessed the launch of the Bebe Awa campaign.

Thereafter, Their Majesties visited the Stichting Verslavingszorg en Psychiatrie (Foundation and Addiction Psychiatry), had lunch with the governor of Bonaire as well as with other government officials, visited a day care center for the elderly, viewed a photo exhibition entitled, Dare to Share, and attended a reception held in their honor which was hosted by the governor of Bonaire.

And, that’s it.   🙂

Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the the Netherlands Opens a Conference in Breda.

LaurentienOn Saturday, November 16, 2013, Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands arrived at the Chassé Theater in Breda to officially open the 2013 conference entitled, De Wortels van het Nederlands (The Roots of Dutch), organized by the Genootschap Onze Taal which the princess is Patron.
