A Lovely Article About the Late H.R.H. Princess Ka’iulani of Hawai’i

On April 13, 2011, writer Deborah O. Melvin wrote a nice article for the Big Island Weekly newspaper entitled,”The Shattered Vase, A Hula Drama”, about the late H.R.H. Princess Ka’iulani of Hawai’i and the new hula dance, The Shattered Vase by Kumu Paul Neves.

According to Ms. Melvin the new hula by Mr. Neves, “…focuses on the princess’adult life, her uncle King Kalakaua’s death, her aunt, Queen Lili’uokalani’s imprisonment in ‘Iolani Palace, and her trip from schooling in England to Washington, D.C.”

The Monaco Princely Wedding: New Information

For the past several months there were rumors swirling around South Africa and Monaco that H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and his fiancée, Charlene Wittstock, will have a “second” wedding in Durban, South Africa.

Well, those rumors are true.

According to the Times Live newspaper, the princely couple will indeed celebrate their nuptials for a second time.  The event will be held at the “… Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga Rocks on July 7, 2011…” just five days after their lavish civil as well as religious ceremony in Monaco.

Wayne Coetser, a spokesperson for the Oyster Box Hotel, recently spoke to Times Live journalist, Brett Horner, whereupon he noted:

‘It’s a lavish affair, with a menu that will feature some South African delicacies,’ said Coetser, adding that only the best champagne would be served to complement the bespoke menu by executive chef Kevin Joseph.  ‘We’re keeping everything under wraps, but I can say it will be a luxurious affair…’

However, the celebrations will not include another religious ceremony; rather, the couple opted to invite 200 of their dearest friends for a mega food fest.  There are also speculations that the new princely couple will honeymoon somewhere in Africa… Kenya perhaps.

Finally, it is still unknown if the two-day civil and religious ceremony, that will take place on July 1 and 2, 2011, will be broadcasted by the major cable networks in the United States (i.e. CNN, MSNBC, etc.)  Nonetheless, as I previously reported those who subscribe to TV5 Monde may be able to view the wedding on their television sets in the United States. Also, France2 will stream the wedding online (only to those living in France) along with Monaco Info de Ligne.  For those living in Germany, the wedding will be available to watch via ZDF.

A Regal Royal Wedding in Vegas…Cancelled! Oh Quel Dommage.

Sooo, remember when I reported about the upcoming regal royal wedding between Carl Alexander Prinz von Hohenzollern and his beloved bikini model fiancée, Maya Sonja, that was to take place in respectful Las Vegas, Nevada at the elegant Little White Chapel?

Yes?

Well, it never happened.

According to the German magazine, Bunte, the dashing couple had to cancel their nuptials because the faux Prince Frederic von Anhalt couldn’t make it.  You see, his lovely wife, Zsa Zsa Gabor, is seriously ill.  Unfortunately, she was recently admitted to Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA for Pneumonia.  Ms. Gabor is in intensive care.  However, the faux prince had time to speak to the press about two things.  First, his wife’s failing health whereupon he noted to a Bunte journalist:

She [Zsa Zsa] had suddenly become short of breath. This has happened twice already, but this time it was really very serious. I called the emergency doctor at noon, who immediately referred to the hospital and now she is on a respirator.

Regarding the wedding between the German prince and the rich American bikini model, the faux prince said, “We have to wait.”

Good idea, Einstein.

His second announcement… wait for it… “I have a new reality show!”  Yup, that’s right folks.  The faux prince is about to film a new reality show about what it is like to be a “royal” living in Los Angeles, CA; the program will also feature — get this — Carl Alexander Prinz von Hohenzollern and his fiancée, Maya Sonja.  Blabbing to TMZ about the new show, the faux Prince Frederic von Anhalt said, “Once Carl gets hitched, he and his new wife will move in with myself and Zsa Zsa Gabor where they will have their own floor in Zsa Zsa’s mansion…”  According to the British newspaper, Express, the faux prince is praying that his new show will pay for his lifestyle and his seriously ill wife’s medical bills.

Stay classy, Fred.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco Visits Sao Paulo, Brazil

On May 3, 2011, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco flew São Paulo, Brazil for an official three-day visit to the hot and sexy country.  The purpose of this trip is to met with local dignitaries as well as to open the photo exhibit at the Museu de Arte Brasileria entitled, The Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco.

According to the site, Mutual Art, the exhibit was:

Curated by Frédéric Mitterrand, the current French minister of Culture, the exhibition was originally created in 2007 by the Grimaldi Forum, and brings together some 900 objects revisiting the life of the star who won the heart of Hollywood, the Principality of Monaco and its royalty. Among them are photographs, films, clothes, jewelry, accessories, paintingsletters to or from friends such as Queen Elizabeth, Greta Garbo, Frank Sinatra, Alfred Hitchcock, and Jacqueline Kennedy, all conserved and organized by the Palace of the Principality.

Visitors will have an opportunity to see mementos of her childhood and youth in Philadelphia, her successful career as an actress, her marriage to Prince Rainier III and her destiny as a princess. In addition, visitors will able to learn more about the devoted mother, caring friend, patron of the arts, chair of Monaco’s Red Cross, and champion of many humanitarian causes.

If you happen to live or will be visiting São Paulo, Brazil, the photo exhibit will run through July 11, 2011.  Admission is free.

Meanwhile, the prince also met with the São Paulo Football Club at their training center this past Tuesday. Here Prince Albert displayed his amazing skills at kicking a ball for all the world to see as well as for the director of the São Paulo Football Club, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopez, coach Paulo Cesar Carpegiani, and the entire football team.

They were impressed.

Then on May 4, 2011, the prince met with São Paulo’s governor, Geraldo Alckmin, whereupon he gave the sport loving prince of Monaco a gift.  I have no idea what the hell he gave Prince Albert, but I’m sure it was nice, expensive, and completely useless. Nonetheless, it was a nice gesture.

Well, ladies and gentleman invitations to the royal wedding between H.I.&R.H.Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia and his fiancée, H.S.H. Princess Sophie von Isenberg, were recently sent out according to Bild magazine.

The article notes that 1500 people have been invited, ” [they] were sent to German and international nobility, “ according to Michael Blankart, a representative for Preussen.de. Even though Mr. Blankart announced that nobles were invited I sincerely hope that several European royals were also invited (which I am sure they were.)

The couple will marry in Potsdam, Germany at the Friedenskirche on August 27, 2011.
