Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visit Dakar, Senegal.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General for Inclusive Finance for Development, visited Dakar, Senegal.

This morning, Her Majesty Queen Maxima visited a market in Pikine, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal.  Whilst there, Her Majesty spoke with various small entrepreneurs who are currently being assisted with finances of their company by the organization, SudPay, a digital platform for municipalities to collect taxes and enable people and business to start digital financial services. Her Majesty also visited a clothing store where she received an item of clothing as a gift from stores owner, Ms. Maryama Samassa Koma 

In the afternoon, Her Majesty met with “…local farmers who explained how the training and digital savings system from My Agro Farms helps them to buy better seeds for more yield and financial security…” according RVD.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge met with the England Women’s football team at St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent, England.

The England Women’s football team will be competing in the upcoming UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 at Wembley Stadium.

On the afternoon, of June 15, 2022, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over a meeting with the Board of Trustees from the Fundación Comité Español de los Colegios del Mundo Unido (United World Colleges: Spanish Foundation Committee) held at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid.

United World Colleges are made up of 18 schools and colleges on four continents. The majority of the schools and colleges focus on the 16-19 age group, with some also catering to younger students. Each school and college has its unique location and character and is dedicated to nurturing young people’s energy and idealism into empathy, responsibility, and lifelong action. The UWC National Committees are located in over 150 countries and territories and can reach and select young people from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

United World Colleges also believes that money should not be a barrier to a good education. More than 80% of students selected by UWC national committees receive full or partial financial assistance, funded by various generous supporters. The UWC Refugee Initiative has also been funding full scholarships to displaced young people from conflict hotspots

Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain are Patrons of the United World College; moreover, Her Royal Highness Princess Leonor of Asturias, the eldest daughter of Their Majesties and heir to the Spanish throne, currently studying for her International Baccalaureate at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

Her Royal Highness Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, second daughter of Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, is also a student at the UWC Atlantic College.

Recently, Her Royal Highness Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, Duchess of Brabant, eldest daughter of Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium and heir to the Belgian throne, graduated from the UWC Atlantic College. Currently, the princess is a student at Oxford University in Oxford, England.

(VIDEO) His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain Attends the FLOTEX-22 Naval Exercise.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain attended the FLOTEX-22 Naval exercise, organized by the Spanish Navy, at the Rota Naval Base in Rota, Cadiz, Spain.

The FLOTEX-22 exercise is an event that demonstrates the level of capacity and professionalism of the power of the Spanish Navy. Moreover, FLOTEX-22 strengthens the preparedness in crisis response operations in order to train naval tasks such as maritime power projection, sea control & maritime security awareness.

Upon his arrival at the Rota Naval Base, His Majesty was welcomed by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral General Antonio Martorell Lacave, and the Chief Admiral of the Cadiz Arsenal, Vice Admiral Ricardo Atanasio Hernández López.

After formal introductions, His Majesty entered the Aircraft Flotilla Command building (FLOAN) where he was given personal protection equipment and received a security briefing.

Soon, His Majesty arrived, via helicopter, at the amphibious aircraft carrier Juan Carlos I where he was received by the Admiral of the Spanish Fleet, Admiral Eugenio Díaz del Rio Jaudenes, and the Commander of the Juan Carlos I  ship, Vicente Rubio Bolívar.

After another briefing, His Majesty witnessed dozens of naval sea, air, and land exercises.

HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway Presides Over Hans Majestet Kongens Garde in Oslo.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway presided over the inspection of Hans Majestet Kongens Garde (His Majesty The King’s Guard) held at Huseby Leir in Oslo.

During today’s event, Crown Prince Haakon presented medals to two outstanding guards. The King’s Watch medal was awarded to Private Vegard Trætteberg from the 4th Guard Company.

The Guard of Honor medal, for Best Officer, went to Ensign Casper Calmeyer from the 5th Guard Company.

On the morning of Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the Norwegian royal court finally released the guest list for Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway’s gala dinner hosted by Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway.
