(VIDEO) TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall Attend the Commonwealth Reception At Buckingham Palace

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended the Commonwealth Reception held at Buckingham Palace in London.

The reception was held to celebrate the Commonwealth Diaspora of the United Kingdom ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda.

Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Receives an Award.

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark received the Danish Shipping Companies Maritime Prize, in connection with the industry organization’s anniversary, held at the Dock in Copenhagen.

According to the Danish royal court, the Maritime Prize was awarded to Her Majesty for her:

“…many journeys with Denmark in all parts of the Kingdom, the reports of the Kingdom seen from the seaside. As a godmother to many of our Danish ships as well as the many visits abroad, how Danish shipping has filled, has merged in as a strong and fully integrated part of the story of Denmark as a large and proud maritime nation.”

Along with the Maritime Prize Her Majesty was presented with 50,000 Danish Kroner, in which Her Majesty will donate to the Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik Fund.

After receiving the award, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II gave a short speech thanking the Danish Shipping Companies for the prize. Thereafter, Her Majesty participated in a one-on-one conversation with Danish writer and historian, Mr. Tom Buk-Swienty, about the role of maritime in the Queen’s life.

HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark Attends the 7th Global Conference on Energy Efficiency.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, accompanied by the Danish Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Mr. Dan Jørgensen,  attended the 7th Global Conference on Energy Efficiency hosted by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Sønderborg.

Yesterday’s conference gathered more than 20 ministers and thought-leaders from around the world to discuss implementing energy-efficient solutions that benefit the climate and the citizens.

According to the Danish royal court, the conference was organized with the “…private sector support from Danfoss, the Danish Confederation of Danish Industry and State of Green…”

His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden Visits the Halmstad Garrison

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip of Sweden visited the Air Defense Regiment, the Swedish Armed Forces Technical School, and Halmstad Military Academy at the Halmstad Garrison in Halmstad.

Upon his arrival, Prince Carl Philip was welcomed by Colonel Mikael Beck of the Air Defense Regiment, the head of the Swedish Armed Forces’ Technical Schools, Colonel Anders von Sydow, and the head of Halmstad Military Academy, Colonel Fredrik Zetterberg.

After formal greetings, the prince visited the Air Defense Regiment where he watched a demonstration of the Robot System 98 and new Air Defense Systems 103 (aka the Patriot System).

Afterward, Prince Carl Philip visited the Swedish Armed Forces’ Technical School where he met with students and teachers.

The day ended with a visit to the Halmstad Military Academy where Prince Carl Philip watched a presentation of the training system for reserve officers.

Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visits the Maxima College in Ridderkerk.

On the afternoon of June 9, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Maxima College in Ridderkerk.

During today’s visit, Her Majesty spoke with the director of the Maxima College as well as various coordinators, teachers and parents about the design of education at the Maxima College. Her Majesty also met with students of the Maxima College and toured various classrooms.

(VIDEO) Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Visits the Petje af Foundation in Amstelveen.

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Petje af Foundation in Amstelveen on the occasion of the foundation’s 50th anniversary.

According to RVD, the Petje af Foundation is committed to equality of opportunity for children in the Netherlands. The organization offers activities in addition to regular education for children ages ten to fourteen who need assistance:

“A locally organized, practice-oriented program is offered every week, in which the children meet with inspiring role models and various fields of work. In this way children gain valuable and refreshing ideas and new experiences. Petje af works together with local education and social organisations, but also with companies and municipalities.

The Petje af Foundation has participated in the Growth Program of the Orange Fund, a development process for social organizations that want to grow their initiative. The foundation now has forty-five locations throughout the Netherlands and thousands of children have participated in the intensive program.”

During her visit, Her Majesty Queen Maxima meet with various children involved with the Petje af Foundation who informed Her Majesty about their experiences with the foundation. Her Majesty also met with Peje af Foundation staff, board members and volunteers. 

(VIDEO) TMs King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain Preside Over a Meeting at Palacio de La Zarzuela.

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain presided over the meeting of the Princess of Girona Foundation Delegate Commission held at Palacio de La Zarzuela in Madrid.

According to the Spanish royal court, during the meeting Their Majesties reviewed a report of the:

“…economic closing of the 2021 financial year and the external audit report and the balance sheet and account of results as of April 30, 2022, the January-May 2022 activity report.”

Their Majesties also reviewed information from:

“…working groups and the activities of the different programs were also assessed, along with the Foundation’s progress during the first months of this year in the implementation of the new Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025.”
